  1. Damn speculators must be hoarding up all decent copies of Daredevil 168 right now on the assumption that DD season two is going to be Electra's intro. All I want is just a decent reading copy right now and prices are over inflated as heck. I had like a zillion copies of this book back in the day and just can't bring myself to pull the trigger at these [raw] prices.
  2. I think they'll intro that old "Greek" girlfriend of Matt's first
  3. Good call! Nice book! The late 300's early 400's Detective books are really surging. Especially with both Adams cover/art We should probably get them while we can still reasonably afford them. My cut off is 9.0, but in the case of Bat 222, I would go 8.0 or 8.5. I can't afford $800 for a 9.4 or 9.6. Sadly. And that's just Adams cover with the Beatles take! My cut off is a little lower. For this time period, I consider anything less than 8.5 to be a set filler in my collection. These early Tecs are indeed very tough to find in high grade so I'm generally happy if I find something close to my standards. A slabbed, high grade Tec 411 still eludes me.
  4. After 32+ years, I've finally got this book back. Too bad my timing is so bad now that the book is picking up a bit due to the TV series.
  5. I guess I screwed up now. I'll probably wind up chasing the whole darn run now.
  6. I had that book. I'm not sure I'd consider it a key. It's certainly pricey, but I attribute that mostly to it being scarce rather than being a key.
  7. I've been looking for a hi-grade Tec 411 for a little while now, but prices have been really inflated in my opinion. I can wait it out.
  8. Just finished the series. Thought it was very well done. Better than any of the other shows currently in place. I just wish Gotham was as interesting.
  9. They would screw it and go in the other direction. Like that flat-chested chick they got to play Vampirella in that God awful B movie take.
  10. Really nice copy. I remember buying that book off the stands.
  11. Beautiful centering on that book. Better than my Sucha News Pedigree.
  12. I loved those Giant Size books. They weren't quite as impressive as the the DC 100 pagers that started to die out around that time, but darn close. I remember getting the Chillers #1, Invaders, and Ironman off the racks.
  13. Yeah. There's a lot of white there, but I don't think that's too bad. It's nice and straight and presents well IMO. It's only bad if it's off center, which I really hate when it comes to the wrap.
  14. I guess this is still BA or BA on the cusp of CA (1982). I had this ages ago. I think I either gave it away or lost it somehow. Finally was able to get another set at a reasonable price. Back in '82, I still viewed Natasha Romanoff as just DD's former squeeze and Scarlett Johansson was yet to be on the scene. This portfolio and Gulacy's take really changed that POV for me.
  15. Beautiful copies from the .75 cent box. Got really nostalgic when I saw them. Too bad Atlas only lasted a few months. Gotta go next week to get more.
  16. Well, it's an insert like the Jewelers, but that doesn't necessarily make it special like the MJs. Collectors' interest with the MJs are driven solely because distribution was limited to military bases (overseas only?). Unless you have that type of hook with these Atari inserts, not sure you can put them in the same class as the MJs.
  17. My $10 purchase of the week. Some old school pre-iron bikini Sonja.
  18. Nice copy. A personal favorite of mine. Really surprised this book doesn't see as much attention as the other Oneil/Adams issues.
  19. I've had a few folks look over this old label 9.0 and they all swear it should grade at least a 9.4 if pressed, but I'm keeping it original. Thought about upgrading it a few times, but I'm so happy with it I'm not bothering.
  20. I'm not a fan of yellow labels either. Especially when it comes to high grade, vintage keys. My opinion, these books are scarce enough as it is and should be left in as original condition as possible. Getting lower grades signed is acceptable I guess, but not high grade specimens. Being a pedigree makes it even worse.
