  1. My CL upgrade came in. Albeit not much of an upgrade from my 9.4.
  2. Just out of curiosity, did the deteriorating plastic did any damage to the book?
  3. I've seen them on eBay periodically, sold separately. Very expensive even as single plates. I am so glad I was able to get the Tupenny portfolio these year and in very decent shape.
  4. Maybe not really a magazine, but then again much more like an art book rather than a product catalog. Posted picks of the interior in the Conan thread.
  5. A few other pics as well as a 7 page article on the rockstar himself doing his very best Bee Gees impression.
  6. OK, not entirely Conan, but there's definitely REH sprinkled in there. I've heard of this catalog that BWS put out in the '70s, but never actually saw one. Everything I've heard seemed to indicate that the catalog itself was very impressive art book. It is indeed. Got this off eBay for $10 on the cheap.
  7. Well, I can certainly use #8. I won an auction for one that was supposed to be an 8.0/8.5. Got it in the mail this morning, but it turned out the cover was detached at the bottom staple. It's going back on Friday when the PO opens up. Got any scans of these books? Thx.
  8. Nice copy with great PQ too. Would make a great center piece in any Bats collection. Yeah. I agree 232 is probably the better all-around book, but 227 does grow on you. I found that out as soon as I got my copy a few years ago. It certainly doesn't hurt that this issue sees more free press than any other Bats book out there from this era. I was surprised 227 was officially recognized as the highest valued Adams Bats book in Overstreet this year.
  9. I'm actually surprised it's not selling for less than what it is now. From what I can tell, there were a zillion copies of this book printed at the time. The significant of the book and the respect it still garners is the only thing keeping it out of the '90s drek boxes if you ask me.
  10. Man, those .35 variants are another bug I'm afraid of chasing. This can get expensive.
  11. Wow. What a blast from the past. I'd completely forgotten about those Marvel Indexes. Always wanted the Spiderman and others when I was a kid, but could never afford them. Congrats.
  12. I've sort put myself on the track for that, but haven't decided if I really want to commit. That's a lot of books and admittedly, the reading quality did go down towards the end. I have about 60-70 different books from the regular run already and about 50-60 from SSOC.
  13. Gotta find excuses to keep this thread alive . Hoping to close out 2014 by completing my raw run of BWS Conans (completed the hi-grade slabbed run around this same time last year). Anyway, most of these came in just before and after the holidays. Short an upgrade to my FR/VG copy of #12 and I should receive #11 and #8 by tomorrow, but otherwise I've completed my run of companion readers to my slabbed books.
  14. Last year around this time, I closed out 2013 by completing my slabbed, hi-grade run of BWS Conans. This year, I decided I wanted reader copies since I just couldn't get used to the awful coloring the reprinted trades have. All these came in just before and after Christmas. Issue #11 and #8 are on their way (hopefully tomorrow) and I just need a mid-high grade #12 to replace my FR/VG copy so I can close out 2014 with my raw run of the BWS issues.
  15. Awesome. I'm jealous. This, and a high grade copy of Vampire Tales #2 would be on my list of goals for next year.
  16. Good trailer, but I also get the impression they already gave away all the good parts.
  17. Yes. That's her first appearance and it's not some small cameo either. I've been looking for a nice copy of VT #2 for awhile. Satanna is definitely in it in what I would call an "intro story". A young girl is pursued into any alley way by a degenerate homeless man with the intent of raping her. Just as the rape is about to happen, the girl is revealed to be Satanna and she takes his soul. She was the predator the entire time. As a young kid at the time, I never read anything so gritty before.
  18. Beautiful copy. I've been searching for a really high grade copy of C25 and C51 myself. Haven't been successful in the last 4 years.
  19. Wow. Big night. Both Bats 251 in 9.8 outdid 227 in the same grade. I wanted Bats 235 myself, but once it broke a grand, it was of my price range.
  20. I just bought a super hi-grade raw copy of that book. I got it as a part of a grab bag for next to nothing. At first glance, I graded it as a 9.2/9.4 with W pages. Man, was I stoked. My heart sank when I flipped through the book and two coupons were clipped out
  21. OK. Not hi-grade and the camera pic is , but they're still in pretty good shape. Nice readers. Loved these TPBs back in the day. I think I'll pursue the 7 book set in better next.

Just caught it. Not sure if I'm willing to say this is a great show, but it certainly looks good. Definitely see they put money into this. I really like the little touches they sprinkle in here and there, like the Bat insignia formed by the window as Bruce begins his initial steps to becoming the Dark Knight. A bit fore shadowing so to speak.
  23. Maybe they want it far off to give Gal Gadot time to put some meat on those skinny bones.
  24. My first OA page. Never heard of Scott Hanna before and I don't usually buy original artwork, but since I'm a Batman fan, I put a very small bid on it for the heck of it. Was very surprised no one else bid and I actually won it. Just bought the graphic novel off Amazon to match the page.
