  1. I think that's it besides the cover to Tec 385 and 422 (my person favorite). He hasn't done any other Batgirl as far as I know. A shame really as he does a really hot Babs.
  2. PP14 from WF #176. It's a really stupid story even by SA standards and Batgirl is only in about 2-3 pages throughout the book.
  3. I think that's the cover only. Tec 385 came to my mind also until I reread his post about interior artwork.
  4. Bats and Tecs did OK, but I thought Brave/Bolds were a little under. I was bidding on the BB #80, but gave up when it went over $300 (I'm a little tapped right now). The book ended up at $459, almost $100 less than the previous sale last year in the same condition. I like the BBs, but can see why most Bat collectors prefer the other stand-alone titles. There's another 9.2 #227 coming up next month. This particular one came from right down the street from me and I didn't even know about it. A local sci-fi bookstore that only sells a limited amount of comics came across small, non-pedigree collection (Brad Squared Collection) a few months ago and are now posting them up on CL. Visited the store a few days ago. Mostly drek remained, but what they do have listed on CL is fairly nice. Wish I had known about it back in April when the acquired the collection. Might have had a shot at making them an offer before everything was shipped off to CL for CGC slabbing.
  5. Another Scott Dalrymple for my Bat collection. I'm expecting one day his stuff won't be so readily available or cheap. I wonder why he hasn't done more comic work than what he's already done? He clearly loves doing superheros.
  6. I remember buying those books off the rack. I used to love watching The Electric Company on PBS just for the 5 minute skit with Spidey. It was the closest we had to having a live action Marvel hero on TV at the time. Ah, the '70s had no fond memories for me other than the comics I used to buy.
  7. There's been a few 9,2s and 9.0s on eBay, but these were rather weak in grade and over priced. Other than that, I think Tec 395s and Bats 222 have been fairly scarce over the last two years in hi-grade. I had to overpay for my 9.2.
  8. I personally think WPs will always sell better than the grade itself. A lot of snobs out there (me being one of them). I actually thought this book would peak at $1500, but it looks like its still got some legs left.
  9. Micronauts are a guilty pleasure of mine My favorite run of the late '70s - early '80s (next to Miller's DD) Too bad the series quickly nose dived after Mike Golden left.
  10. Well, congrats. Looks like the book is off to a great start over at CL. Just when you think the market is slowing down on this book
  11. I'm 1 of the who paid up for a 9.4, still feel stupid but we've all been there done that. This book can't be that hard to find in high grade can it ? Apparently it still is. Not surprising really. That black, square board wrap-around cover would chip if you stare at it hard enough.
  12. Wow. I had completely forgotten about that TPB. One of the few last ones before I gave up collecting altogether. Great book.
  13. 238 is a nice book, but I don't think I'd ever pay that much for it. My 9.0 is not bad, but even then I thought I over paid for it at about $235. I was willing to splurg a little bit at the time because this was one of the books my parents bought off the racks for me when I was a kid. 222 is another book that I have mixed feelings about. I want one for sure to complete my run, but it's on the bottom rung in terms of what I want to pay for it.
  14. Wow. That went for a great price. 9.2s were going for that not long ago.
  15. I bought that book off the stands as a kid and remember how great it was. Three legends on one cover, Romita, Kirby, and Starlin. If I'm not mistaken, I think the interior art was by Gil Kane. Another fav of mine growing up.
  16. Man. Not a good time for me to be broke. I just took a look over at CL. There's an absolute beautiful run of hi-grade Adams Tecs, Bats, and even an old label BB #85 that's a 9.6 w/white pages.
  17. I agree as well, the Dark Knight Batman “type” that was the impetus for all the movies, the early ones included, started around this time I think. The earlier into the 60’s you go the more sci fi, campy things seem to get for me. Even the flippers have to realize though that many of these Adams keys will be desirable long into the future. I actually hope prices do dip post movie hype so more of us can afford some of these bad-boys in better grades. In the meantime I will be hunting and researching the foreign 227 variants far into the future. I have begun work on my 227 specific article and I hope to include side by side compare and contrast elements using Bats 227 and all its foreign brethren. Below are the known true 227 Adams bats variants…… Starting with the American, The Mexican Novaro, The French Sage edition, and the beautiful Brazilian EBAL! Only three believe it or not…. The Brazilian being the prettiest…. Many of the Brazilian Ebals had a almost pastel look to the covers. There are still some rumored to exist 227 variants that will remain close to my chest…. Weird that the French version changed Batman's face. I think the entire cover was redrawn from scratch.
  18. I think the Adams era books are a great starting point for many collectors. It's pretty much established that the Batman we all identify with these days started at around this point. I would imagine a movie coming out would spur some interest. In the end, the same ol' collectors will be around, but the flippers will come and go. Speaking for myself, I loved TDK, but it was not enough to get me interested in comic books again. That didn't happen until after I played Batman: Arkham Asylum on PC a year or two later, and was floored by how great the Paul Dini story was executed. That led me to the trades, which eventually led me to buying up all the Bat books from my early childhood as way for me to deal with my mid life crisis (since the Harley is out of the question). This so happens to be the early O'Neil/Adams run of the '70s.
  19. Just found this one on eBay. I don't normally consider high priced, raw books, but this looks really good. What do you think it grades at? Would this be at least a 8.5 or 9.0? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300563298833
  20. Well, I am toying with the idea of going after a run of Conan #1-24
  21. Well, you gotta admit, it's somewhat of a weak looking 9.4. Maybe that's what dampening the excitement for me.
  22. With the exception of 222, not really. 222 is not my favorite book in the run so I just can't bring myself to pay too much for a decent copy. I started out on this project last year. Didn't think I'd actually get this far so fast. I remember I was sitting on pins and needles waiting for my 227 and couldn't wait to rip open the package once it came in. Didn't feel that this time around.
