  1. I posted this in General and also the grading section. Might as well pimp it as much as I can seeing as I effed up and overpaid for them. http://www.angelfire.com/ct2/Jarhead/spidey/spidey.htm
  2. Spidey 102 and Marvel Superheros 14. Not dial-up friendly. http://www.angelfire.com/ct2/Jarhead/spidey/spidey.htm
  3. There's a 9.8 with OW pages that just showed up at CL. In fact, some very nice high grades copies of 232 and 244s as well. Does anyone remember ever seeing this one before?
  4. Seeing as the snow is still coming down and I'm completely snowed in with hours before I can even begin to shovel myself out yet, I might as well keep myself busy while I still have power (already lost heat). Just some LCS Neal Adams pickups before the Nor'Easter hit. Although I normally stick with Bats stuff, the DC Special was in such great condition (about 9.0) I couldn't pass up the $10 asking price.
  5. I'm impressed. That's a great run of books. And one of the great runs in Marvel history. It's hard to believe that #158 is over 30 years old now. That's a run I'm considering once I complete my run of Neal Adams Bats, which is nearing the finish line now. DD was one of the few books I followed in the day and was more than happy when Miller took the character places it has never been before. Bought every issue off the stands and had multiple copies of 168. There's only a few books I actually regret getting rid of and the Miller DDs fall into that group.
  6. I keep like 5 of these in my safe at specific areas. Cheap, reliable, and very convenient to recharge once the silica has been saturated. http://www.amazon.com/Eva-dry-Renewable-E-333-Wireless-Dehumidifer/dp/B000H0XFCS/ref=cm_cr-mr-title NOTE: 5 is overkill, but I like the peace of mind.
  7. I keep my safe dehumidified, so I think that should cut down on any rust Yep. Avoid those safes that are rated airtight or waterproof. That and some simple dehumidifier solutions, you should be OK.
  8. Well, my CL stuff came in today. Nothing earth shattering though. It think this one is SA, but what the heck. Got the Year One run (Bats 404-408) as well, but not worth posting.
  9. That's quite a price tag on that. Nuts!! That's the power of W pages in my opinion
  10. Stumbled into a small LCS that I had never been too before. Wasn't expecting much as it was a small place, but was completely amazed at how much quality vintage stuff they had (and at really reasonable prices as well). Every shop I've been too in this state thus far has been pretty 'meh' when it came to SA and BA. Picked up this beautiful copy of ST 178 for only $5. This JLA 94 was a little more at $45, but it's a solid 9.0 if not higher in my opinion. I posted this next one in the SA forum, but I have to mention it as well. An absolutely beautiful VG+ copy of Batman 181 with the centerfold poster intact for only $10. They had a very nice VF+ Spidey #102 as well, but I didn't want to spend the $150 just yet. Lots of early Tales to Astonish, Tales of Suspense, FF, Spidey, Sgt Fury, etc.. in FN/VFN condition. Definitely worth another trip back in the future.
  11. Don't buy a lot of SA books, but I did come across this very nice VG (with centerfold poster intact) copy at a LCS. Found it in the bin with a $10 price tag. Immediately grabbed it as I wasn't sure if the seller know what he had. Pages are OW/W, staples firmly attached. Was really excited to find it.
  12. Yeah. Very impressive price on both the Bats 227 and 238. The last Bats 227 9.4 went for $1400 so this crumps it. I guess right after Christmas is the best time to sell afterall.
  13. I bought that book off the racks when I was a kid. It was one of my favorites. Thought the character was really cool and it was the first time I had seen anyone carry a pistol with lanyard. Held onto it for the longest time hoping it that would take off, but it never did. Glad to see it finally getting some attention.
  14. Wow. Didn't take to long for either 238 or 227 to pick up steam over at CL, did it? I guess the auction right after Christmas it the best time to sell.
  15. Just some low/mid to mid grade readers. Bats 231 is actually fairly hi-grade and was cheap to boot. Too bad it's one of Adams' ugliest covers.
  16. Congrats. I have a very nice raw copy myself. Adams did a very "Warren-like" take on this. Always thought it looked like something you'd see on the cover of Eerie or Creepy.
  17. Wow. Not just 238, but Adams Bats in general are really getting loaded up for Jan. I haven't seen so many different books in months.
  18. Wow. Great price. Congrats to the buyer. Looks like Christmas is definitely the time to buy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121040902229
  19. Certainly a better wrap than the 9.2 on eBay right now and that one is not too bad either.
  20. Some nice, mid-grade readers I picked up at a LCS. They were priced at $17 and $18 respectively, but were having a Black Friday fire sale and were 50% off. I figured at that price, what the heck.
  21. Got my Oct CL wins in yesterday. Pretty happy with most of them since I got them all at a relatively good price, but the Tec 419 bothers me though. It's an old 9.4 and the lower right corner is heavily bumped (a little hard to see in the scan). There's also a few small spine ticks I'm not too happy about. I've seen 9.4s with the spine ticks before so that doesn't surprise me, but the bump is really ugly and I'm amazed it didn't bring the grade down to an 8.0-8.5. The slab doesn't look like it's been tampered with, although the sticker on the top edge has long since fallen off. I guess it's just a badly graded 9.4 then.
