  1. You can start by looking at the past auctions over at Heritage. Just create an account and you should be able to see their full history.
  2. I just can't believe Bats 222 is climbing into the same chat circles these days. Mediocre cover, mindnumbingly stupid story, and it's not even the real Beatles. A decent copy still eludes me, but that's because I absolutely won't pay that much for this book. That's where I draw the line (or so I tell myself).
  3. 48. Quit collecting when I was about 16. Started collecting again on a (very) limited basis two years ago.
  4. Still cheaper than the 10k paid for the first 9.8. A bargain compared to that. Great book.
  5. A cheap win from last month's CL auction. Believe it or not, I've didn't even notice it was a pedigree until it came in today. Always thought this was the best Bats cover that Kaluta ever drew, although 'Tec 424 comes close.
  6. I feel that way about Bats 222. Will eventually own one, but not at the current prices for a mid to high grade.
  7. In case anyone is interested, there's a really nice 9.6 over at eBay. Presents really well too. At least good enough for me http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-227-CGC-96-oww-Neal-Adams-cover-/300880659212 'Course, it probably belongs to one of you guys.
  8. Just got this today. Much thanks to Bane and Flaming TelePath. Been looking for an "affordable" copy with W pages for a long time.
  9. Never was a big fan of Moon Knight, but I did have a WBN #32 back in the day and wouldn't mind getting another one in high grade. I'd get that book for the Gil Kane cover alone. At the time I left the hobby back in the early '80s, I thought MK was handled much better than Batman. Certainly the title was on my list of monthly must-reads, where as Batman wasn't.
  10. Nice. Yep. Same for me, only it's been 30 years. In the last two since I've "returned" to the hobby, I'm almost done with my Adams Bats collection (combination of raw and slabbed). Was thinking about where to go after this and the Smith Conans are definitely on the list.
  11. Well, at least none of the foreign variants have Robin in his underwear ruining the tone of the cover.
  12. My 9.4 #232 was actually the first comic I had bought in over 30 years. Had a beautiful copy back in the day and always regretted selling it. All I wanted was just this one book after playing Arkham Asylum. After I got it, I caught the bug and wounded up chasing after all the Adams Bats (and then some).
  13. Well, I'd like to think this thread had a small hand in spurring interest in the last couple years Anyway, a couple of years ago when I got back into collecting BA Bats, I would have disagreed. Not so sure now. Certainly percentage-wise, it's the Adams Bats book that saw the biggest leap of the bunch from the previous year. Although 'Tec 400 still holds the crown as "most valuable" according to Overstreet.
  14. Finally a worthy contender to dethrone me from my Perviest statue title i won last year for my Ms Marvel statue Well, yes. The back of the statue was nicely sculpted as well Careful! You stare at ONE statues fine booty and these people will brand you for life! Trust me! Do you display her facing the wall? That would be very pervy. . No, that was just a single moment of weakness I guess I was weak last night when my wife wasn't looking

  16. I normally do not buy comic related toys or statues, but I saw this on display at a LCS and was blown away by it. It does now show up too well with the cell phone pic here, but the details are really great.
  17. Here's a 9.4 that didn't sell on eBay. The seller had it listed for $1700, but was entertaining offers. If he still has the book, it wouldn't hurt to throw a number towards his way. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-227-CGC-9-4-Classic-Adams-Cover-Hanging-Panels-/160966144084?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item257a547054&nma=true&si=D%252FQA0Wrd8eYntoAKnl45wMBCcak%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  18. Ah. So you're the one who won that Heritage auction last week. Great book. Congrats.
  19. Admittedly, I have very little interest in SA Bats, but I happened come across these two reader copies yesterday a LCS. The were only a $3 a piece.
