  1. The grades are not very high, but I love books of this vintage with W pages.
  2. I didn't and still don't mind the white strip so long as it was nice and even.
  3. Awesome. I've only got a mid-grade raw one for now. Been holding out for a reasonably price 9.0-9.4 for while now.
  4. I personally like BB 79 better and view it in the same light as Tec 395. Where it "all started" so to speak. I tend to ignore World's Finest 175/176 mainly because they were so horrible and clearly '60s camp despite having Adams involved in the artwork.
  5. With this much attention going towards any type of Neal Adams Detective or Batman title, I'm actually astounded there seems to be very little (comparatively speaking) interest in Adams's Brave and the Bold run. No one seems really interested in this title as much as the other two standalone books. With the exception of BB #85 getting a little attention every now and then due to the 1st Adams Green Arrow, it's very quiet. There's an absolutely beautiful BB #79 (No, it's not mine) over at Heritage that seems to be ignored. I consider this book an early BA key.
  6. Wow. Very aggressive openning bids. I guess 9.4 is the sweet spot for this book. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BATMAN-227-CGC-9-4-NEAR-MINT-OW-WHITE-CLASSIC-COVER-NEAL-ADAMS-DC-COMICS-/130951952601?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item1e7d5838d9 Although still priced slightly lower than Tec 400, did anyone notice that Overstreet finally has this listed as the most expensive Adams Bats now? Even above 232 and 234. Although 222 is still only $125 in NM (Gee, where can I find a copy like that).
  7. The nice thing about being so close to Saco, ME is that plain ol' ground shipping is the same as overnight express. Just got my CL wins today.
  8. Some of you might remember these. This came as a bundle. I got it primarily because I was missing the Batman book, which is an almost forgotten piece of Neal Adams Bats history. Usually these come fairly beat up with the record missing, but these were in beautiful condition with the LPs looking like they were never played.
  9. Congrats. That was actually the first book I bought after taking 30 years off from the hobby. This was just over 2 years ago and now my Adams Bats collection is nearly complete. It all started with 232 though.
  10. Posted in BA forum. It wasn't cheap, but it was a good deal considering how expensive this book has been selling for. After two years, I'm almost complete with my Adams Bat collection. Of the few remaining books left, a reasonably priced Detective 411 remains as the only other significant book I need.
  11. This just came in. I believe this was Greg Reece's old copy. It's probably been passed around from a boarder or two as well. I sort of broke my own promise of not paying too much for this book, but in my defense, I didn't expect to win it (where are the snipers when you need them). Although not cheap by any means, it went for MUCH lower than what I thought it was going to be. Now to hide the bill from the wife.
  12. That's a tough one in grade. Now that is tempting. I've been holding the line on this particular book for a while now. It's really the only Adams Bat book I'm missing, but I just can't bring myself to pay a lot for it. I think I'm ok with something in the 9.0 range if it ever turns up. Does anyone know what this Bats 222 (9.4) sold for? I vaguely recall it was listed at $1250, but not sure.
  13. The more I look at this 8.0, I can't blame the bidding war. It's a very nice book that presents really well. Bet if this was still the pre-CGC days, this probably would have been graded much higher.
  14. Wow. Bidding war? Yeah, yeah. CVA sticker. Wouldn't be funny if it turns out CVA employees are bidding up these books to bring attention to the service.
  15. That's a tough one in grade. Now that is tempting. I've been holding the line on this particular book for a while now. It's really the only Adams Bat book I'm missing, but I just can't bring myself to pay a lot for it. I think I'm ok with something in the 9.0 range if it ever turns up.
  16. http://www.angelfire.com/ct2/Jarhead/conan/conan.htm Only $3 each!
  17. I just picked up a really nice Conan 23 and 24 for only $3 each. I have it posted in the Grading section. http://www.angelfire.com/ct2/Jarhead/conan/conan.htm
  18. A stack of test prep and MA law books. Studying for the police exam next month.
  19. OK. Who ever won that CL auction has got to know about this thread. Fess up. Which one of you is the lucky winner?
  20. Maybe not. I have a feeling the vast majority of the hi-grade, high profile BA books out there has already been squished.
  21. It's unfortunate that CL does not allow access to their auction history, but here are few that I tracked over the last 2 years. Some boarders here who may have participated in some of these can vouch for the winning bids and date.
  22. You can start by looking at the past auctions over at Heritage. Just create an account and you should be able to see their full history.
