  1. Repost from the BA forum. July CL wins. Thought I got both for a good price, but for whatever reason I'm just not as excited with these books as much as I thought I would be.
  2. Well, my wins from the July CL auctions came in today. Can't help feeling underwhelmed though. I wonder if I'm finally getting bored. Not exactly the best specimens within their grade, but I did score both at what it is basically below either GPA or Overstreet. It was a real surprise I actually won to be honest. My Adams Bats collection is nearly complete now, but it may be while before I buy anything else.
  3. Wow. Whoever won the auction got a good deal. Considering how hot this book has been, I was somewhat, but not entirely surprised. I guess a lot of collectors are just tired right now or there's just a freeze in interest until DKR comes out.
  4. Two great books from my childhood. Didn't care that they were reprints. The stories and incredible covers just kept me coming back.
  5. Does this 9.4 over at eBay belong to a boardie? I'd swear I'd seen it before. Currently at $501 with 3 days left. http://www.ebay.com/itm/230821798485
  6. Not to derail the topic, but whatever happened to Conan anyway? When I left the hobby back in '81-'82, Conan was still one of the hottest titles around, both from a publication sense as well as with the collecting crowd. Much to my surprise when I made my return to comic collecting last year, this title had not only been cancelled (unthinkable) back in '94, but early issues were still fairly cheap compared to other books. Was it simply bad writing and artwork that killed it? I recently picked up issue #275 and thought it was not only badly written, but horribly drawn as well. Like the creative forces in charge just didn't give a anymore.
  7. No Conan #1 (yet), but I've got two very nice, raw Chamber of Darkness #4s. One is about 8.0 and the other is about 8.5.
  8. I came away with this modest win. Just an upgrade to my old (but nice) label 8.5 w/OW pages.
  9. I never quite understood how CGC takes color scuffing into consideration. I have a 9.4 Tec 410 that's even worse than that. Congrats on the pick up. Awesome deal.
  10. Nah, but a bunch of us over in the BA forum was watching this.
  11. Still a really nice book though. I thought the final hammer price was real good deal for the buyer.
  12. Must have been a last minute addition. There's a new 9.2 over at CL. This one is a SS. Not sure if that's a negative or a positive. Not crazy about SS books myself.
  13. Hey, I remember buying that book of the rack when I was a kid. Man, what memories. I had completely forgotten about that one.
  14. Just out of curiosity, where did you get this copy? Was it eBay? I dunno where you guys find this stuff, but none of the LCS in my area ever carry any vintage books in decent quality or quantitiy.
  15. A few more Dalrymples on the way. The Spidey is really nice. Getting it as a gift for a family member, but I'm tempted to keep it for myself.
  16. the CGC 9.4 is still available on eBay. it had nothing to do with the final hammer. as i mentioned before, i think to most buyers of 227, CGC 9.4 are out of their pocket range. How much is it on eBay for? Well, it's been relisted at a more realistic $1550. Accepting offers too. Might go this time around.
  17. I really wanted the 245 to replace my current 8.5, but the price just got too crazy for me.
  18. Just a few sketches. Nothing earth shattering. Dustin Nguyen Scott Dalrymple Haven't actually rec'd these next two yet, but they're on their way. Another Dalrymple Alberto Ramos
  19. I honestly think it might have gone higher if that 9.4 hadn't had shown up in the last few days. As long as you're happy, Congrats
  20. Was this the CL one that sold for 1400 back in Nov? Bag timing as Greggy's copy hasn't closed yet.
  21. Is it just the scanner? Because B looks more vibrant where as A is kind of murky. I'd pick B. The wrap and presentation is fine. I don't mind a little white at all so long as it's even.
  22. It does not count if you do not have a 9.8 #222 or #227 in the mix. I wish.... Those books are not rearing their heads anywhere. But to give a little taste of what Adams books are on their way, not sure when they will be in my hands, 2 months at the most: Batman #219 CGC 9.6 Batman #222 CGC 9.4 Batman #225 CGC 9.6 Batman #243 CGC 9.4 Batman #245 CGC 9.6 Where the heck do you guys find your raw books any way? All the LCSs have and eBay is not much better.
