  1. Slightly OT, but years ago I had a really neat lot of 1950s Streamline crime comics... must have won them in a UK auction somewhere, but can't remember where. I sold all but one (the last one shown here, the 'Spectacular Crimes' with the women in prison cover), and dearly wish I'd kept them all. The cover drawings are really charmingly crude, almost like R. Crumb's art. Cool project, Marwood!

  2. Awesome, RMA. I remember so many of these sellout books from the 80s and 90s. Nice to see the connective narrative.

Back in 1986, I somehow had the good fortune to buy extra copies of The 'Nam #1 and #2 right as those books started exploding and sold out everywhere. 14-year-old me took two copies of each to my local LCS and enjoyed strutting around like a big shot for an hour while the shop owner tried to offer me a rather outlandish number of SA/BA issues in trade. I turned down his offer, and quite appropriately the 'Nam issues cooled off immediately and I felt like a fool. lol

  3. A lot of great stuff here, RMA. I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on CGC. They have really boosted grading skills and overall buying confidence across the board, even for those who don't buy slabs. Just because of budget and collecting habits I use them less frequently than most people on the boards, but I am quite grateful for what they've brought to the marketplace.  (thumbsu
