  1. (thumbs u that book is for real, I sold one of my NM copies for $80 this week, not bad for my $2 investment
  2. just got back from a different LCS in my area, not as good as the prior shop but still got another copy of DCCP #27 (1st Mongul) and this.... they didn't have Swampy #37 or 67 or anything else on my list, but still worth the trip. need to make my way over to the 3 shops across town and the dealers at the Flea Market this weekend.
  3. except the character is nowhere near as popular as Harley People still buy Superman comics? Superman Adventures is a fun series, the stories are not bogged down by continuity or crossover events and just focus on the classic traits of the Superman mythos and his encounters with villains. I've had a complete set for awhile, just recently bought up a few more SA #5 copies for resell, the only other issue in the run that garners any kind of price is the Kara Supergirl issue #21. no, she's not Harley, but a fun character and the cover is a good one for her first appearance.
  4. Superman Adventures #5 keeps on truckin'. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Superman-Adventures-5-First-appearance-of-Livewire-NM-HOT-HOT-LIKE-FIRE-BOOK-/141281900775?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item20e50eb8e7&nma=true&si=3IpxEP2%252BcAkUf9Y4OidIxcznULY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  5. Hellblazer 1 is just an awesome book, as are all the early HBs. I still have the #1-6 run I bought off the racks, and though it's tempting to sell I will probably still hold onto them. sell, sell, sell !! , ( and then buy the trade paperback )
  6. just back from the same store today, not as good as yesterday, but still decent, the top row was all from the dollar boxes, (anyone know anything about that AF15 reprint, I've never seen it before), the DCCP 26 was $3.50, and really excited about the Hellblazer #1 it's NM for $15. the store has like 50 or so dollar boxes which I still haven't gone through all of it yet, and some of their regular stock is old pricing I assume. The new owner actually knows alot about comic values from when I've talked to him, from what I'm told he bought the store from the previous owners, so maybe he hasn't had time to go through and reprice everything yet. place is clean but just a tad bit unorganized as I couldn't find the Hellblazer yesterday in the regular "H" section, it was underneath on the floor in a different "H" box.
  7. thanks Shark, they had a few other books that I made a mental note of for when I go back. but this was good for today.
  8. had a fun little trip to the LCS today, got all this for $25.
  9. the copy on the right is the reprint version that came with the "masterpiece" set.
  10. it's been exciting watching the rise in value of these early books over the years since I joined the boards, along with the Pre-Robin Tecs, Early Capt. America books, etc. fun stuff.
  11. not my personal preference either, I'd rather have restored copies with decent PQ. however, the #10 in this eBay lot last sold for $30,500 through Comic Connect, so there is a market for these books in almost any condition, just not much supply.
  12. a bevy of blue label beauties on ebay at the moment, Action # 7, 10 & 13. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACTION-COMICS-7-CGC-1-8-ACTION-10-CGC-3-0-ACTION-13-CGC-1-5-SUPERMAN-COVERS-/141255407792?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item20e37a78b0
  13. Along with other key Action books he has listed. Someone hit the $7500 BIN. Strong price for a trimmed, extensively restored copy. looks like his Action #10 got popped as well, $15,500 for a restored EP 4.5 w/tan-off white pages. prices are getting stronger on these early GA books, will the Action #7 he has listed be next?
  14. let me take a stab at this. 1. Action Comics #1 (not just Superman, but Zatara as well? are you kidding me?) 2. Detective Comics #27 (Bats, Bats, Bats!) 3. Superman #1 (best reprint book I ever saw) 4. Batman #1 (got a low grader thankfully) 5. Action Comics #7 (still kick myself daily for not buying that $800 copy from LCS in 2001) 6. Detective Comics #31 (the moon, the castle, the fog, and those ears! those ears!) 7. Mile High Copy of Action Comics #48.(I can dream can't I?) 8. Action Comics #13 (already have a #10) 9. All Star Comics #8 (ooh la la) 10. Captain America Comics #1 (really the only GA Marvel I would ever need)
  15. Leroy, I also plan on being at the show this year, and we will definitely talk, I was serious about buying your copy, but could tell you didn't want to let it go, rightfully so, great book. but I found another copy anyway.
  16. I really want this beat copy to break $10K as mine with missing back cover presents like a 4.0 instead of .5 but if that happens then my chance of ever obtaining a nice looking 3.0 gets more out of reach. I could probably get a 5.0 range Bat 1 if I traded my Cap 1 and Bat 1 but I would have trouble letting go of Cap. yes, and you would have to change your avatar.
  17. one of my favorite early Action covers, congrats man (thumbs u
