  1. I respectfully disagree. 1. It's a DC. 2. Shazam is a second-tier title, with a third-tier (at best) super-hero. :p 3. S28 may be scarce, but only because the title was a total FAIL (after the C.C. Beck issues), and in a nose-dive at the time. :p 4. Black Adam? Your kiddin' me right? opinions vary, but other common books that feature Black Adam are doing good as well. not my book. DC Comics Presents 49 Thanks! Going to pull that one tonight! (thumbs u There indeed appears to be some interest: DC Comics Presents 49 Other recent sales.

  4. yes, I agree, in fact, when I look for the title at several of my LCS, they usually don't have ANY issues, which is what made this find today so strange as the #28 was the only issue they had.
  5. wouldn't pick it up if i were wearing a hazmat suit and asbestos gloves I just traded one in 6.0 for at least $200 worth of great books(if I'm being extremely conservative), so please let me know if you have a 5.0-6.0 copy available for $50. I like money. just got a Shazam #28 in 7.5/8.0 for $2 dollars and 99 cents at LCS it was the only issue of the run they had in the whole store. how crazy is that?
  6. a crazy time for reprints, however, I would rather have (which I do) the famous first edition Action #1 reprint as it includes all the stories from Action 1 not just the Superman story like all of the other reprints.
  7. I thought this book would top out around $25k, never expected bidders to put this high of a premium on it for the provenance of the book, just crazy. ..........and reserve still not met.
  8. that has got to be a record for a .5 copy, I mean it would if reserve is met. right?
  9. Is she single? well actually she's dating my bass player in my band.
  10. well, she is a HUGE Harley collector, so if I give her a decent price on the group lot, she may sell me any other Harley items she has in the future, she says she's a bit of a hoarder with Harley items.
  11. Harley (2000) 1-38 Yeah, $38. I hope you guys are joking, I'd give her more than $38, I was thinking around $150-$200 for the set. I've seen individual issues (not #1) go for $6-$10 a pop.
  12. so what would one expect to pay for a complete set of Harleys first series, (2000) #1 thru #38? I have a collector friend who has 2 complete sets, and I'm thinking of buying one of her sets from her.
  13. good job on that Spawn #9, my LCS has 3 of those sitting in there dollar box, but I thought the hype of that one had died down, guess I need to go pick them up.
  14. would be nice to see the book meet the reserve price.
  15. Why doesn't that label say the book has been trimmed ? -J. good question, it does state "from a bound volume" so maybe it is assumed that has the same meaning.
  16. Comic Connect "Bob Kane file copy" up to $12, 209, with reserve not met, http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=566830
  17. yet that is exactly what it has done...tec 31 is "the" golden age cover to many dc enthusiasts and supply is very limited...that has created the pricing model... while batman 1 is a far superior complete package, up until recently, supply was seemingly readily available....so, by comparison to tec 31, there was less upward pricing pressure due to availability versus desirability oh I'm not disagreeing, the sales clearly show the truth, I was just saying it's nuts since Bat #1 is a top 5 Overstreet GA book. the Bob Kane file copy of Batman #1, (brittle, incomplete, extra staples, trimmed) CBCS 0.5 is off to a good start over at CC auction this month. should be interesting to see where it ends up at. http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=566830
  18. it's nuts that a TEC 31 would surpass a Batman #1 simply based on cover appeal. If any of the DC movies in the next 10 years feature the Joker again, I would expect Bat #1 to enjoy another surge like it did with the Ledger movie.
  19. so is this a new GPA for Batman #1 in CGC 2.0 blue label? sold for $33k http://www.ebay.com/itm/BATMAN-1-1st-Joker-appearance-Golden-Age-1940-DC-Comics-CGC-2-0-Unrestored-/360954668052?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item540a932414&nma=true&si=o7I2JmrSk9nZoViHpcvGsBnNJwo%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
