  1. I always wondered how Batman knew those weird creatures were all Scots when so few of them were wearing skirts.
  2. Here's a scan of my entry: I bought it for Hawkeye and the Scarlet Witch though so it was despite the presence of Captain America.
  3. Here are scans of three more of my Detective Comics:
  4. I have complete sets of the Topps Hard Day's Night, Beatles Color Photos and Beatles' Diary cards and almost all the Topps Beatles B & W cards. I'll scan and post these sometime over the next few weeks. I also have the Beatles LP's but I don't consider myself a record collector because I buy them to play which of course wears them down. I'm more of a Rolling Stones' fan than a Beatles' fan though. I have a small collection of Stones' picture sleeves, concert programs and the Rolling Stones Monthly magazine which came out between 1964 and 1966. I also have nearly a complete set of the A & BC Rolling Stones card set.
  5. Nice! I like the neatness and the organization. (thumbs u
  6. I recently posted pictures of my comic room and many of the items in it in these two threads: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1623360&fpart=298 http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4880445&fpart=1
  7. Hey George - maybe it'll become a cult favorite like Rocky Horror, with people mouthing the dialog and coming to the shows in costumes That would be good. I'm all about counter culture as opposed to the mass market anyway. In fact, that's why I'm a comic book collector and not a movie buff of any sort. I don't care one bit for all that Hollywood stuff.
  8. Scans of my entries in the Fantastic Four sweepstakes:
  9. Yep...I'm looking for the cat who declared the bidding war on me.. Wasn't me. I had nothing to do with it. Great looking book though! (thumbs u
  10. Hey, that's a nice one! (thumbs u
  11. That's a very sharp looking 7.0. Excellent eye appeal! (thumbs u
  12. Here are scans of three more of my Detective Comics: Cleveland copy
  13. Here are scans of three cool Krypto covers:
  14. I have been amazed at what he has been able to acquire as I believe this 2nd or 3rd attempt at the collection seems to be even higher grade than the first. I don't understand the guy. Why would he sell his collection and then immediately start pecking away at the same books?
  15. I'm only working on portions of the Big Five and other DC war books. The first title I decided to peck away at was Capt. Storm quite simply because it was the only DC war comic I actively bought as a kid. I've been at it for 25 years and I still need seven of the eighteen issues. Twenty years ago I decided to pick up the All-American Men of War Battle Aces of 3 Wars books. I've picked up only four. About fifteen years ago I decided to start working on two more runs - Enemy Ace and Capt. Hunter in Our Fighting Forces. I'm within one issue of completing the run of books where Enemy Ace is the title character but I'm stalled out on the Capt. Hunter run with only four books. About eight years ago I decided to go after the dinosaur cover Star Spangled War Stories books. I'm nearly half complete. Two years ago I decided to peck away at Our Army at War/Sgt. Rock and G.I. Combat books featuring work by Joe Kubert, Russ Heath or Ross Andru since I really like the artwork of these fellows. I've only picked up a very few because my income has nosedived recently.
  16. Getting back on topic, here are scans from my collection of some seldomnly seen Warfront books: I love the cover references to Red lice! (thumbs u
  17. True. Your collection; you define the runs you want. (thumbs u
  18. I agree! But you should have added the three stooges, Assemblyman James Fitzpatrick, Senator Robert Hendrickson and psycho Fredric Wertheim, there at the side gazing in loving admiration at your collection.
  19. The first seven issues of Creepy can't be beat for cover art. Here are scans of my own:
  20. Here are scans of my run of photo cover Vampirella mags with actress Barbara Leigh in the title role:
  21. You've convinced me to open myself to offers of adoption. (thumbs u
  22. Something like that could be a lifelong journey. That's what makes it so sweet.
