  1. I've always liked that cover. Flash, Spectre and a WWI fighter plane all together on the moon! I mean what's not to like?
  2. Not for $1500. Twould be alright for half the price maybe.
  3. The Bride of Frankenstein came out later than the first six kits and was advertised in DC Comics with the Witch which was the other kit issued at the same time. I have both the Bride and the Forgotten Prisoner but not the Guillotine:
  4. The flagrant rule breaking in this thread appears to be driving potential posters away in droves. I'll see if I can rectify this situation by posting these two scans of books falling squarely within the rules:
  5. Yes, all the Aurora monsters are the original long box versions. I've been pecking away at my collection of model kits for very nearly thirty years now but there are still high priority kits that have eluded me, such as Aurora Mummy's Chariot and Revell Scuz-Fink, all this time.
  6. Those Aurora kits are all vintage, unbuilt originals. The only kit in my model cabinet that's a repro is the Revell Surfite which I'm keeping as a placeholder until I get an original. I've posted many more pictures of my model kit and other collections in the Comic Room thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1623360&fpart=298
  7. That was the second Flash I ever bought as a kid and perhaps my very favourite cover of the entire run because of the composition and the colours. (thumbs u
  8. Here are some scans from my Topps Batman collection featuring Norm Saunders artwork: And here are some scans from my Topps Comic Book Foldees collection:
  9. Well then check these rims out: Nice, eh? (thumbs u
  10. I remember the magic I felt that day when I first spotted Flash 142 at the News Depot downtown. What a fabulous cover! (thumbs u
  11. Here are scans of my Flash crossover issues:
  12. I'd extend my favourites run back to #123 but I'm not impressed with either #127 or #128.. Here are scans of my Reverse Flash and Mr. Element/Dr. Alchemy covers: Northland copy
  13. There's only hearsay that it's the same guy.
  14. Hmmmmmm. Twould seem that this is a person with absolutely no brain.
  15. Yes. I would not have been able to resist. Too late now though. Maybe next time!
  16. Hopefully he was lying when he said that he lives in my neck of the woods. Twould be embarassing were it true.
  17. Hepcat, Speedy-D, DavidMerryweather, Goldust40, comicdonna While I'm glad to be at the top of the list, I don't know why I deserve such an honour. I'll grant that I can be an equal opportunity offender, but I really can't recall posting anything particularly provocative lately (other than my usual anti Captain America jibes of course). I'm insulted though that the mods think I need their protection. Hey, I can take care of myself! .
  18. Two great treasures! (thumbs u
  19. But are you not afraid that this thread will fade into oblivion in the face of the combined indifference of all the Captain America fans and other Marvel zombies on this board? And don't you want to see my scans of Reverse Flash, Captain Cold, Trickster and Mr. Element covers?
  20. Carmine was the guest at the big Toronto Comicon about five years ago and hosted a fan forum. When I asked him about his change in style from a less realistic to a more exaggerated representational one, he answered that he was attending an artists' seminar when he was told that there was no point in an artist striving for realism in illustration since that could be better done by photography. It was this remark that caused an epiphany in his thinking. I don't like the cartoony expressions on the faces of Green Lantern and the Flash. All of a sudden they look bizarre/silly, most unlike the way Carmine had drawn them previously. Look at issue #131 in comparison: I think Carmine's run of Flash covers from #129 to #153 neatly encapsulated everything that I liked about DC's house style, and then his covers went downhill dramatically It's interesting that the identical thing happened to Gil Kane's Green Lantern covers at almost the exact same time, They're fabulous from about #19 to #44 - and then they decline rapidly..
  21. Oh man! I've been looking for a #113 as nice as that for 25 years! Where did you get it? Collecting early Silver Age DCs takes patience but it can admittedly be frustrating.
  22. Here are scans of my Green Lantern crossover issues: I'm wondering though what got into Carmine Infantino and Joe Giella when they drew the cover of #168. It's awful. Were they drunk or something?
  23. Here are scans of a couple of nice dinosaur covers from my Lantern run:
  24. Here are scans of a couple more of my World's Finest books:
