  1. Thank for the compliment, I am actually rather new on the MJI kick compared to some of the other users on here, but I'm a fast learner and a bit OCD . As far as my best MJI/Diamond issues, I have ASM 97 in 9.0, 100 in 8.5, 101 in 6.0, 122 in 8.0, 194 in 9.2, 238 in 9.4 and 252 in 9.0. My highest graded MJI issue is X-Men #191 with the Bose wrap as well in 9.8.
  2. Yep. At least it's more info than CGC gives you in their census... I go to each book, then use the "find" feature in my browser(with "mark jewelers" as the search term) to make it slightly easier. I did that through the Amazing Spider-Man title to make a spreadsheet on how many of specific issues had MJIs and double covers...surprisingly, CGC MJIs are nearly as hard to find as double covers! Probably because MJI copies were way less likely to be cherished than a rare error.
  3. Rare double cover* as well! (Double JOKER cover!)
  4. Mine's a 3.5, lol. But, I'm not jealous at all. I use the GPAnalysis site. They've compiled sales records for the past 20 or so years, so since CGC doesn't track MJIs, sites like theirs are the only way to find out if something exists. It doesn't mean there aren't higher grade MJIs out there, they've just not been logged by them. And according to their records there are no MJI copies logged higher than a 9.2, so you may well have the highest graded copy, but not the only one. There are at least two 9.2s out there. If you paid about 2300 for yours in 2019*, then yours is one of the two that sold that year. If not, then there are at least 3 9.2 MJIs out there. *Creepy, huh?
  5. Your search for a higher grade double cover 100 pager made me think of my baby...I don't think I've shown her here yet. I was a huge Longshot fan back in the day(Fear the mullet!), so when I came across a triple signed double cover I had to have it. The thing is, I didn't care a lick about the grade(I had a 9.8 triple signed and sold it after I found this). It's the only double of this issue I've seen and wouldn't sell it for all the tea in China! Rock on!
  6. There's a limit to how many comics you can have?
  7. It's a 9.2 with white pages @ $131.75. GPA only shows a record of a 9.6 sold in 2021 but that doesn't mean the owner will ever put it up for sale or that you'll be in the position to buy it even if they do. If it's something you want, then why wait when you could enjoy the 9.2 now? Even if you just consider it a placeholder and look to upgrade it in the future. If I search "100(or 52) page double cover CGC 9.6(or 9.4)" nothing comes up on Terapeak in the last two years, so odds are, if you hold out for a nicer copy, you'll be waiting quite a while...
  8. I have an Amazing Spidey Annual 10 that is a double. The top cover is loose and not glued(as it states on the Det #440 label). I'm sure many of the squarebound copies that had the extra cover the outer cover was used as a poster or simply discarded. I have a squarebound ASM #200 with a double interior, I'm pretty sure it also had a loose outer cover but it didn't stay with the book.
  9. New one: kingkongwongdong ...lol... Just posted a Superman that looks sketchy. Both this ID and the first I mentioned have zero feedback and are from Columbus, OH. I never looked to see where uniquecomics was from, but dollars to donuts it was Columbus, OH. I can't look at their ads anymore, but when I change the order of their sold items to nearest first, both of these new IDs and uniquecomics are exactly 2,060 miles away from me.
  10. Warning: New 0 Feedback double cover dealer: captainamerica5. Could be uniquecomics testing the waters with a new ID. They have 4 up, only doubles. Pictures are not as good so hard to tell if legit or not. But one looks dirty on the inner cover...I'd be wary.
  11. Ditko #1! Since I don't have any ASM doubles under 78, I was looking for an earlier Ditko issue with no luck so I was about to settle for a Ghost Manor #3 CGC 8.5 on the Bay just to have a Ditko double when I saw that Reece Comics had posted this. No brainer between a Charlton #3 and a DC #1!
  12. I would still think the direct version with #1 would be a much smaller print run than the newsstand #1 or the direct edition with #32. But, yeah CGC needs to call them what they are---not "printing errors". No one makes a mistake on purpose... Thank you all for the info and the link to the older thread!
  13. Hoping I could get some clarification on this(I apologize if there is already a thread on this but I couldn't find one, I also apologize if this has been fixed already). My understanding was that since Quasar was a direct sales only title, that the Operation: Galactic Storm tie-in issues(32-34) which went to the Newsstands, got #1-3 placed on the covers. If that is the case, the only issues that should be considered "Printing Error" copies would be the DIRECT sales versions which accidentally got printed with #1, 2 or 3. Why is CGC labeling the Newsstand copies with 1-3 as "printing errors"? Not an error?: True error?:
  14. Oooo...I nearly pulled the trigger on this one. He who hesitates... Great deal! Need a Neal Adams double in my collection. Had a GL 76 but sold it to a friend who's a big GL fan...
  15. Well, as some on the Mark Jewelers thread will attest after I brought something to their attention, being in the industry a long time does not mean one knows everything. When I was a kid, I would wait for my local convenience store owner to unpack the books and he would always write "received" and the date on the top book so I would avoid that one. So, due to that experience I always assumed it was a receive date and only the top copy would get it. Now that you have brought this to my attention, I'm left to wonder why he did that. It makes way more sense that it was to keep track so they would know when to send the unsold copies back for credit.
  16. So, I just bought my first Marvel Team-Up double(I had Amazing, Spectacular and Spidey Super Stories so now I have all of his first four series with doubles), and was wondering how rare this is: A double cover with an arrival date stamp: I would think it would be against nearly all odds that a comic with an error would not only slip through unnoticed and then get shipped on top of a stack of books sent to the newsstand!
  17. Unique Comics has upped the ante once again! Now they have a duodecuple(12) cover! The title simply says "12 cover". Apparently their "uple" vocabulary doesn't go that high. Shockingly, it's from that overprinted Knightfall/Knight's End run that still fills dollar bins everywhere.
  18. Got it(Super fast from MCS as usual)! Needs a press, but pretty happy about my 30th ASM with a multiple cover! I now have: 78, 85, 101, 106, 135, 140, 149, 151, 156, 167, 170, 174, 223, 238, 240, 250, 252, 257, 265*, 268, 270, 280, 281**, 299, 312, 315**, 321, 351, 360***, 361! Plus Annual 10 and a double interior #200. Bold: CGC * Extra cover inserted at centerfold ** Mark Jewelers Insert *** Triple Cover
  19. I have the confidence that I can tell a real one from a fake one. I feel VERY strongly that these error copies are vastly undervalued so all of these are investments for me. When rarity starts to catch up to condition, I will be a very happy man. Besides, I would rather pay a little more for a copy I want in a double cover than find one in a book I simply don't care much about. I also don't buy collections. I've been doing this for 25+ years just finding good deals on books I want to collect or sell. Most of the books I sell in our shop on eBay are extras after I upgrade the copy I have. I have friends who buy collections and one of my friends owns the local comic shop and when I look at all the thousands of worthless books in their garage/stock room, I know I could never do that. Besides, my wife would tan my hide if I brought even one box of comics home. Our house is a warehouse as it is...
  20. Doesn't compare with the DD 131 or ASM 149, but any self respecting comic collector should have some Groo love!
  21. I nearly broke my index finger going through the payment process. I knew it would go fast. The funny thing is it took nearly 2 hours to "sell" the first time. That made it even worse that I missed it. And Lone Star is my go-to comic dealer these days. I just re-read the ASM Omnibus and Buddy Saunders has like 3 letters printed in the first few issues of the series...including the very first issue. He's the man.
