  1. It was just a facetious remark, the next statement (...but I am a very careful packer) provided more context to what I said. As if what 'I hope' would dictate how my comics were handled in shipment
  2. thanks!...it's a bit ridiculous ...how is it any different than when they had USPS holding registered mail pieces at the post office (I am not asking you)..it's just as secure at a Fed ex location...anyway, it's just another example of CGC's inconsistencies
  3. Is there a particular reason why CGC doesn't allow the customer to manage the delivery so that it can be held at a local Fed ex office ?? I tried changing my delivery to a fed ex shipping location down the street and it says the shipper wont allow it I have other fedex deliveries coming from comic link that allow me to change it to a local fed ex office @CMatthews
  4. Yeah, I just wish they could be more consistent..I based my recent prescreen 9.8 Modern submissions (7/65) on my first two submissions (35/50) and so I felt comfortable going all in...I wonder if there is a hook and bait thing going on (that's just the cynical side of me, probably just a luck of the draw coincidence). i have 75 more in the que...we will see
  5. I have 75 left to go...so maybe I will get a balanced grader ...we will see. I based my submissions on the first two prescreens I got back but I guess even that's a flawed plan
  6. moving along...I only got 5/25 on 4108023...and 2/15 for 4111600 (0/25 on 4102862). I think my experiment in 9.8 prescreen is over...just weird going 55/76 for first three submissions and then 7/ 65 for next three submissions..too inconsistent...I am hoping that maybe there was some shipment damage on the way there ...but I am a very careful packer I still have 75 more to go..this could be brutal ..ugh
  7. I sent in the homage issue 306 ..some consider it a parody..but he has signed this particular issue before. But I think what he means by parody are artists who parody his ASM 300 image
  8. Todd McFarlane will NOT sign any of these books during the CGC In-House Private Signing:Venom #1 Color Variant Cover, Venomverse #1 B&W Variant, Venomverse #1 Color, Venom #6 Color Variant Edition, Spawn Retailer Thank You Variant. TODD WILL NOT SIGN ANY PARODY COVERS. He will only sign books and characters he has worked on.
  9. Todd Mcfarlane signing? I can see how he would chap some people...sorry, I did not read the date of the OP or read the other responses
  10. it depends on how the tear affects the visual appearance and where the grade is without the tear....this tear probably wont affect an 8.0 (maybe 8.5) or lower but would affect NM grades
  11. Have you resubmitted any of the rejects? I am going to do that and see what happens (but I will split them up with others I haven't submitted)
  12. yep, holding up to a strong light at an angle is very important
  13. My guide for a 9.8... I send a lot to 9.8 prescreen These three are the most important aspects of a 9.8 Absolutely no color breaking spine ticks, in fact no color breaks whatsoever No more than three spine bends and these can't be more than 2 mm's in length No impressions on the cover of any kind now, some graders will be more liberal in grading allowing a color break spine tick/more spine bends/some impressions but you risk it, some graders wont grade anything a 9.8 unless it's completely flawless other than these, the comic should be flat and shiny..it should look like a perfect copy but TBH, the only way to get the experience is to take the risk
  14. I am really beginning to think it's the luck of the draw with the graders...I got a 20/25 today (my highest) and a 0/25 today
  15. yes you do....go to 'submit' then to 'submission forms' and scroll down to 'online forms' for comic grading...and you will see a list of all submissions (submitted and voided non submits)
  16. Another prescreen moved to quality control today..but from the charge on my credit card ..but all rejected (9.8)..the other one that was processed earlier, I got 20 that made 9.8...interesting
  17. I think that in processing these orders they forget about orders for a time many have tried to figure out their system, and we all have failed
  18. I would email them..every time one of my submissions gets stuck in GEI, I email them and it miraculously goes to G/QC two days later
  19. I submit prescreen 9.8 moderns ,as well as non prescreen SA and GA, and also, non prescreen BA and Modern I am sure there are a lot more moderns being submitted ,...But I see quite a bit new SA and GA slabs coming out on auction sites
  20. You can submit as many as you want (min 25) but CGC will break up into more than one submission (if you submit over 25) with 25 maximum for shipping reason. Before I knew this i submitted 26 books and CGC broke it into two submissions (25 and 1), even if there are some rejects..this only becomes an issue with the cost of return shipping
