  1. That is correct, was previously trimmed. Kenny Sanderson worked on it.
  2. Wasn't surprise at all at the ending price of the Tec 27 coverless. That's around the estimate I placed it in. The light tan pages may have hurt it from selling even higher, but no front cover is the key. As Gotham said, the hobby has a lot to do with having the front cover at least.
  3. Well looky here.. Another Crime Patrol #15 CGC 9.8 Gaines copy popped up for sale on CL. I had to look twice and thought the buyer for it is re-selling the book. only to find out it has a different CGC serial number. You seeing this underbidder!!!!
  4. That was a steal of a price and only a year ago too! Smart buy right there. Wish I had the funds to have made a bidding on it.
  5. I don't think the 9.4 sale should lift all lower graded copies higher because of the uniqueness of the book in this high grade. Also, it is from a well-renowned and one of the most desired pedigrees to boot.
  6. I suppose I can say this. The second-most valuable book in the Truckee Meadows collection wasn’t in the April Auction. It’s in the June Signature Auction. Must be a Hulk 1
  7. Btw the current auctioneer up right now forgot to shave this morning. That is all..
  8. Same copy that Bob S sold recently.. I think it sold for $200k+?
  9. Same.. The auctioneer said that the last one sold was 11 years ago.. Well I'm sure we will see another copy or two soon after this sale
  10. I wonder if that random dude who was looking for an uber high graded Cap #1 won it
  11. Just peek into your vault for big boy books 🤓👌🏽 It's not as nice as it used to be
  12. I'd like to see the big boy books please . I won't be there until tomorrow so there's a chance some of the books will be sold today
  13. That's a whole lotta whoppers that's for sure!
  14. Well, WWBN #32 in CGC 9.8 has 19 copies graded as of date while MS #5 in 9.8 only has 4. So roughly 5x more 9.8 copies of WWBN #32 than MS #5. I'm not at all validating the price paid for the MS #5 is a fair price, I still think it's overpriced but between this and the WWBN #32, I'd rather put my $ on the MS #5. It also has a cooler cover, probably my favorite cover of the bronze age.
  15. Was that $70,499 higher than your max bid for the book? Might as well light your $ on fire
  16. This one looks to like a better copy than the previous one CC sold for. Loving the colors especially the greys. I would think this copy would sell higher I was reading the description and it says that this is a Microsoft copy. Whatever that means?

  18. Well, the consignor is leaving a lot of $$$ off the table. If he had paid to have the CVA sticker on the label, I predict it would sell for $363,528
  19. I believe the staple quality would be either shiny, matte, or rusty
  20. Single panels? Or has that already happened? I don't think I've seen one. Single pages yes and even half or was it 1/3 of a cover from Action 1 too. If anything what about CGC grading OA too?
  21. Yeah, pretty ridiculous if you ask me... The seller made out like a bandit with this transaction that's for sure, like taking candy from a baby. I really want to know the thought process of the bidders as to why they think this is worth over a grand. I still can't wrap my head around it.. Maybe they are paying for the CGC label because it says "Action Comics #1 from 1938?" Speaking of CGC, they should really stop slabbing ridiculous things like this, it just lowers their standards. It seems like a lot of people are joking around about it like we are now on this board and it comes off as a bad look for CGC in my opinion. Heck, they don't even have the proper case size for something this small, all that dead space in there... I guess if there is potentially $ to be made, why not? Things like this should automatically be rejected for grading and encasing. Will we see vintage staples being graded next now?
