  1. Absolutely. It took Arrow a while to get into it's groove. In fact a season I believe.
  2. That was an awesome preview of what to expect from the WW movie. Looks so classy.
  3. I can't wait until Thursday to see it for myself!
  4. I woke up with a DC hangover from over indulgence of goodness last night. I think it's safe to say last night was the pinnacle of any DC fans dreams. I'm just in awe at what is happening here. It's just great!
  5. We can spark up a doobie with Prof. Stein! Amazing trailers! They are getting it together!
  6. True, and it usually is when someone posts one Maybe it's a strategy to discourage other bidders
  7. I thought it was Sid's? Beautiful Showcase 4 you have there. It looks very natural and yet newsstand fresh!
  8. 12k without a resto/trim check . To seller who isn't familiar with comics. Definitely a gamble. I called and talked to the guy and asked if I won the auction could I inspect the book in hand before paying. I also could pay in cash if he preferred. I don't think the book is restored but I had a concern with the condition of the book being closer to a 4.0 or worse and possible coupon missing pages. He said I could pick it up in person but I had to pay for the book first through Ebay. If I had any problems I would have to file a paypal dispute as its being sold as is no returns. I said I'll pass and won't be bidding. The seller was about five hours from me and I was willing to make the trip to complete the deal. I could understand the seller wanting to be paid before he turned over the book, as he doesn't really know you and he could be robbed. But he should have agreed to return your money if, on inspection of the book you decided you didn't want it.
  9. In fact it'll be in the upcoming signature auction at Heritage. Did you keep your undercopy or did you get it sold? Indeed I sold all mine, this will have to keep me for a while. Going for downgrade or something else cool?
  10. The only way to buy a book like this is to go pick it up in person, and even then you have to be expert enough to be able to spot restoration or trimming. Why I never bought a book this big, raw anyway, off of eBay. Still, it's fun to watch and see how high will it go
  11. Here's a reasonably nice looking raw copy for sale on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/272087819362?redirect=mobile A zero and low feedback bidder had it bid up to $15k but the bids were cancelled and another $10k was retracted (probably when the bids for were cancelled). Thoughts?
  12. In fact it'll be in the upcoming signature auction at Heritage. Requesting early pic since heritage is not up yet http://comics.ha.com/itm/showcase-4-the-flash-savannah-pedigree-dc-1956-cgc-fn-60-off-white-pages/a/7030-91068.s?ic3=ViewItem-Auction-Archive-BrowseSearchResults-120115&lotPosition=15 They have a scan from the last time they sold this very copy - just look in the auction archives for the Savannah copy. Otherwise I prefer to wait for them to post a new scan, as my scanner doesn't handle slabs very well.

  15. You might soon get a chance to reunite with your old Showcase 4
  16. I agree - always hated this loser cover.
  17. Oh my! That is quite the difference in definition. Oh yes... Thanks for the spoiler tags guys. Appreciated
  18. Wow! Can't say I didn't see that coming.
  19. . . . that is if anyone really cares to own one in a decade or so. The down side of all the hype and superheated prices is we risk losing touch with the reality that (unlike us of a certain age) most kids today aren't aspiring to own a SC 4
  20. This thread has so much positive in it, the outpouring of positive is overwhelming. Indeed! It'd be nice if more threads could take an example from this one, and be a little more positive. haha, if more shows were universally well liked there'd be more universally positive threads. I think with this show, it is what it is from the beginning, no pre-text, no finding its way. They've done a good set up to let people know what they're in for, and people who are into it will watch it and like it. And those that don't like it either won't watch it or will say, "It's not for me, but I appreciate what they're going for." Many of the other comic shows have spent time finding their tone and consistency, often to their detriment and confusing viewers with violence, intensity, grittiness, drama, soap operaness, campiness, etc. The actress is well cast here and sets the tone to 'likeable'. Which works well for the channel, for its timeslot, and for many comic fans who are tired of the 'heaviness' of many comic related fare. Also not too many shows with a triple female lead, but as you can see when it works, it works. .... Well said..... GOD BLESS..... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) ...... and I'm sorry, but I'm truly disappointed that there is no ASM show on Network T.V. yet....... what a short sighted waste. I agree - and I also agree ASM would make for some fabulous TV
  21. Never. ....it's only worked it'\s way up from # 6 or whatever because of temporary media hype....... GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) Yes but the gains won't be temporary. I think there's gonna be a new crop of fans - some who've made well in the tech or finance industries. People who can well afford a book of this stature. Also, I think DC may outpace Marvel on gains for a few years - but that remains to be seen. They have a lot more ground to make up. Also lots of folks of a certain age are holding higher grade copies which may start to come out in a few years when demand really outstrips supply.
