Dear CCA,

First off Mike, money well spent and I've seen the scans. :cloud9:

I've bought a few books lately and of course I've already blown my

upcoming payday's comic budget. Some books are just too hard

to pass up. Reading Cap Freak's recent post made me think that I

might have made myself only an observer for the upcoming VCC. :frustrated:

I just realized I've been here a year and survived a flame war due

to my own stoooopidity :flamed: and worse than that was an

unfortunate embarrassing FDQ exit. :sorry: How I ever

thought my own troubles would get better by quiting something

I've grown so fond of. I tried to stay away and have been on

Vacation for over three weeks and missed all you guys way

too much. :luhv:

My name is Fay and I'm a comic book addict. :takeit:

My name is Fay and I'm a recovering addict of something a lot

less enjoyable. I guess it's one day at a time and one funny

book at a time and I fully intend to keep it that way. :juggle:

PS: I owe Greggy an apology for including his name in my

ridiculous FDQ exit post and I hope one day he forgives me.

The same goes for my dear friend from the UK. :wishluck:

Thanks for a great year everyone. (worship)

fay :foryou:

(worship) We :luhv: you Fay!

Stay awhile and enjoy the ride! The idle mind is the Devil's workshop> Keep your mind on other things and keep keepin' on!

Dear CCA,

Over the past month or so I have been buying and selling books from an original owner collection to the tune of $1000 or more a week. It has been so much fun, even though I am not keeping very many of the books. Tonight I got to thinking though. What happens when this magical spending bender is over? What then? Will I go into withdrawl? Will I be up til 4am every night feverishly BINing $10 lots of random modern books? Will I comb the silver age section and set snipes til my eyes cash out? Will I haunt the marketplace like some grim spectre? Will I drone on endlessly in general about the halcyon days of deals long over? Are the high highs worth the low lows? These are questions I have....and answers I seek!

Yours in collecting,

October

As long as you have the money and a book you "have to have", you will indeed haunt the marketplace. And yes, as long as you are happy with what you obtain, the drive to obtain more will remain and your highs and lows will be sated...

Dear CAA,

It's been over a week since I posted :takeit: on a book!

Well, I must say it has been a busy week for me. I have finally paid off a couple of major Board purchases and only have 3 more (big) ones to go. :acclaim:

I plan on finishing up one of them by the end of next week, and then it's a waiting game for the others, as the Army owes me a nice chunk of change. It will take a while for them to pay me of course

I have submitted my Resumes to a couple of prospective places in San Diego. Just waiting with hope for the phone interview to come. My wife likes rubbing it in that she has a job and I'm "unemployed" meh Between those and the "Senior Citizen's Discount" remarks it's really been fun ha.ha.

I will be placing my house I just bought in Sept. for sale. Luckily I paid under market value for it, so hopefully I can get out from under it without getting reamed.

We have found a couple of decent places to live my wife will be checking out once she arrives there to report for her new job.

Collecting wise I have decided to place all of my slabs in Mylites. They really do look SWEET in them (worship)

I have finally come to the realization that I'm not just a comic addict...I'm a comic SUPERFREAK!

I can't help it. I see HG FF's I need, do some quick numbers crunching to see if I can do it, then pull the trigger. If it's too sweet of a deal to pass up, I do it anyways

I wonder if I need to be placed on Double Secret Probation? hm

My name is Thomas and I'm addicted to comics!

Well Thomas , there's worse things one could be addicted to.

And , no , secret probation is not necessary , I would recommend a nice straitjacket , though... (shrug)

Congrats on Army retirement , and good luck w/ your future endeavors and prospects..

I think it's fair to say that anyone on these boards probably takes this hobby a wee bit more seriously than the average comic collector.

Dear CAA,

It's been 5 minutes since I posted a :takeit: on a book :insane:

Haven't been here in awhile because I really don't have a problem now. Sure, I have extended myself out there to get some ossum HG FFs, but what else am I going to spend money on...Food? Water? ppbbbbbt!

My wife is in California now and I will be joining her as soon as I finish up business here. I miss her already...

I am approaching the 5k/5k club
