Novick's Pep covers and stories are probably my favorites from his very productive career.

Here's a later Top-Notch, once it was changing over to humor.

 

I always think of this as a sad time in GA comics. The classic hero comics were phased out and transitioned to humor comics.

 

On the plus side, this January 1943 issue does have an ad for Archie #1 inside so there was a positive side as well.

Cool cover on the Zip 7. Pre-dates Biro's Crime Does Not Pay title by a couple years, too.

 

Steel Sterling doesn't seem to be doing much of a job here.

Two cops get plugged and the baby has a five o'clock shadow and a tommy-gun.
