$21500 for a slightly restored tec 29...I am thinking it is time to put my 3.5 blue up for sale!

I know!! I am very surprised that a slightly restored Tec 29 hammered $21,500!?!?! Crazzyyy money!! Maybe I should put my Tec 29 up for sale too.. Well after it is restored as it is with Matt and I heard it will be getting a 7.0-8.0 :wishluck:

What is insane to me is the 19.5% buyer's premium. I can see it being worthwhile on GA or "Highest Graded" books, but I just can't justify paying that high of a premium on pulps and SA/BA books that I know I will be able to pick up sooner or later elsehwere for a better price. Looking at the Weird Tales pulp auctions, there are a few reasonably priced lots right now but when I add the BP to them it does not make sense.

Im still high bidder on one Weird Tales pulp :)

Good luck! I doubt that I am going to come out and play later for them. :wishluck:

... the appeal of the Double Action is a bit limited.

Yeah, but that's almost 4x guide for a restored book. (shrug)

true, but that is assuming the guide is either correct or relevant on this book...which, it is not...the guide is really becoming more and more outdated/anitquated or just plain ole wrong, and needs to have some "real world" prices updated in it... I volunteer!

Because of the final price of the Tec 29 being $21,500.. I'm wondering how much my Tec #31 CGC 7.5 slight resto. is worth..

I saw it up on clink, but no action (shrug) maybe put it in their next auction?

Absolutely. Why do we speak in multiples of guide if guide pricing is supposedly accurate?

My point was I think 17K for this book, mid grade and restored, is a pretty healthy price and don't think it reflects an overly limited appeal. The page had 500 views as well. (Gawd, I love that new feature.)

George we are still waiting to hear if you won any of those pre hero Tecs

i am sure he won the ones he was after (thumbs u

Won them and then grabbed dinner - Tecs #2, 18 and #35 at crazy prices that only a collector would pay :tonofbricks:

OSPG should just copy the pricing from GPA on higher grades. By now most serious collectors use it as the "real" guide anyway.

Hopefully the multiples of guide for slabbed books will be maintained and we can all see our comic collection quadruple in value overnight! ;)

actually, I would say just the opposite...I don't think GPA reflects "true" GA pricing at all...it only captures some extremes from heritage and ebay...most GA sells privately or at cons, or via comic link, etc, and unlike SA and BA, etc, it sells raw...GPA is not even close on any book I ever have looked up in GPA (which is why I don't use it)...it might be great for frequently traded SA and BA slabs, but it presents, in my opinion, as bad of a GA picture as overstreet can be
