Would a proof copy be printed on comic book paper?   @Kevin76

No

Depends.  Who and what the proof are made for. There are examples of some that are . Here is one that is identical to the numbered edition with the exception of the back being marked as PP 12/50 for the Printers Proof .

it was a typo, I posted a much clearer answer.  "Printer's Proofs"  is just another term for "Sample Copy"  Samples are given to the customer and are made to look perfect.

I’ve had this GI Joe 154 for about a year. Got it at a yard sale. The first four and last four pages of the comic have some miswrap pages error. Never seen it before and can’t find any information online. Has anyone seen this before or have any information on it? Thanks. I’ll probably only let it go as a part of a 135-155 run for a true die hard GI Joe fan like @STORMSHADOW_80

This one is kind of interesting - I kind of dig that it's an error copy actually.

Just got this nice copy of Catwoman 46, a nice Hughes cover (the marks are from my dirty scanner I keep forgetting to clean; disregard those please):

939205981_Catwoman46.thumb.jpeg.154e37ca170a8e7621f9dc1c0d1b43be.jpeg

When I opened it up, this is what I found:

IMG_3422.thumb.JPG.b8fe5ba8a2a884a74df84189d4266d43.JPG

IMG_3423.thumb.JPG.81445f284aeb7afcf3a984c95ba19cdd.JPG

First couple of pages/wraps are short. So I went to the back of the book:

IMG_3425.thumb.jpg.b9d4c9a9c6bcdf7839a44f5d9dbce0ec.jpg

So it's like miswrapped but cut correctly, so the front pages are short and the back pages are cut off. I haven't seen this before - like I said, kind of neat and unique.

That's a pretty interesting error. You have some of the hardest issues to find in that run. I still think about that purple rain book lol

Marvel Two-In-One #31 has an interesting manufacturing error on the front cover.  As far as I can tell, on all copies of the 35c price variant, Whitman/square diamond version, UK edition and Mark Jewelers, there is an area between the I and N of THING which is pink where it should be blue. That error also exists on some of the regular 30c newsstand copies, but on what seems to be a small minority of the books.

I say the error is interesting because I think it could show something about when the covers of the different varieties of MTIO #31 were printed, although I am not sure what exactly it shows. It could show the 35c variant, Whitman/square diamond, UK and MJ covers were all printed first with the error, then the 30c newsstands were printed, and soon after the 30c newsstand run started the error was corrected. Or, it could show exactly the opposite, that is, the 30c newsstands were printed first, and near the end of that run something happened in the printing process which caused the error, and the error continued into the printing of the other versions. Or, it could show something else, or show nothing at all.

I recently picked up at an LCS two copies of Secret Wars II #3 which have the same printing error.  It appears that a color was missing or weak when the covers were printed, resulting in the front cover background having violet hues instead of being the blue/indigo and black of a standard copy.  Differences in color can also be seen in the characters on the front cover.  The error is less evident on the back cover, but on the error copies the girl's pants and the boy's coat appear slightly different from those on a standard copy.  In the photos below, an error copy is on the left and a standard copy is on the right.

I recently got back an ASM 238 from Voldy that, unbeknownst to me, had extra tats.  It is noted as a manufacturer error on the label.  It's also a Mark Jeweler copy.

Extremely cool!  Did Voldy note it as multiple Tattooz inserts, or just as extra tattoos, as in one Tattooz insert containing multiple tattoos?  I once found a Dazzler 25 which had two Tattooz inserts, but one of them was loose, unstapled and unfolded in the back of the book.

Got this as an early Christmas present today. X-Men 202 with an extra, and mis-trimmed cover, at the centerfold.

I've seen 20+ double covers of that issue but haven't seen that occur with that book before..  ^^:takeit:

I've never, ever heard of or seen a case of this before now!  Weird and awesome!
