Popular Post Point Five
Well, chalk up one more member for the Diary Secrets #17 club. I don't usually go big on Baker books, but this one was so pretty I had to take the plunge. Nice date stamp too! Point Five
Thanks guys! LOL, should have known you all were familiar with this copy. I dithered about it quite awhile too, but once that 4.0 sold for $1200 I decided to bite the bullet. Definitely the nicest Baker I own. comicnoir and Funnybooks

Sqeggs
My take on the current state of Bakerdom: Highest-graded copies go from strength to strength. Same with keyist of keys (CL 25, GCE 12) even in lower grades. But offseting the high prices, from a collecting perspective, is the flood into the market of mid-grade and lower copies of most issues. Possible, I think, to quickly put together a pretty good chunk of the great man's St John run without breaking the bank. jimjum12
Popular Post Sqeggs
One of my favorite non-romance Baker St John covers. The Baker Wild Boys seem undervalued, although I think all the covers are well done. jimjum12, Point Five, MBFan and 5 others 7

The DS 30 price seems low. I used to think of this a really tough book but a lot of mid to low grade copies have surfaced. Still nothing above 6.5, though, unless there's a raw sitting in someone's collection.

Are there many Canadian editions of St John books? I know there was a guy on eBay who was selling some for a while, but I don't often see them. Given how iffy St John's circulation was in the U.S, it's a little surprising he sold enough in Canada to justify the printing.

Before the book could even be shipped, the winner jacked up the price and put it on CLink for $8500. It was funny tracking that book on eBay. After failing to sell it at $5K or something, didn't he jack it up for awhile to $10K? Or maybe I'm thinking of another book.

I've owned a few Canadian St. John's, but I'm in Canada, although I usually get them through U.S. dealers like Harley. They are actually Superior Comics in Toronto that bought the rights to American material. St. John's did not publish up here. Popular Post Sqeggs
I was thinking the other day about @Dr. Love post from a few years back about how there may be a significant number of ungraded Church copies of Baker St John books. I think we found HA sales of raw copies of TAR 1 and 2, which, so far as I know, haven't been graded. But can't think of any graded copies coming to market recently. I have a couple. I think that's it for me unless I'm forgetting one. pmpknface, Chief1332, PeterPark and 3 others 5

Iirc the guy on eBay selling Canadian editions mainly had the early photo cover issues. I believe he was also located in Canada.
