I will one day regret having let this go. Had originally obtained it from Verzyl's Comic Heaven mail auction some 30 years ago and later got it encased. Hope it found a good new home (any boardie?).

Do you know why it is so rare?

How/when did you part ways with it?

OK, since there's been some Baker/Not Baker chatter regarding some of these covers, how about this story that Overstreet credits to Baker and the GCD keeps the question marks on.  I guess I'm seeing some Baker (women's figures and faces) but perhaps the hands of other artists just about everywhere else.  From All-Famous Police Cases #7, "Death Is Its Only Reward":

Even though it was first printed in All-Famous Police Cases #7 in 1952, this story looks like Iger Shop art which had been done years before. The female faces and most of the male faces are Baker, but other hands are apparent in the work, particularly in the inking.

Comic Book Plus says the story is “most likely a leftover Inspector Dayton story from ATOMIC COMICS.” That sounds right. The last issue of Atomic was in 1946, and this art is the kind of stuff Baker was turning out at the Iger Shop then, not like the work he was doing in 1952 at St. John.

I don't know about Baker, but I see LB Cole's Blue Bolt #115 skull. :D

There is absolutely Baker in this. But it is Iger shop, so who knows about the rest?
