I only liked this because there's not a love button.

Never saw that before!

I think at this point not having a single issue of Gothic Blimp Works is probably the most annoying gap in my admittedly limited underground collection.  They just don't seem to turn up!

There are several copies on e-bay.  What would you consider fair market prices?
This one https://www.ebay.com/itm/186064558466, looks pretty good, for a decent price.

I think the prices on eBay are probably pretty reasonable, given their scarcity and size.  I just need to actually budget myself to get one, I haven't paid that much for any of my undergrounds so far.

Budget is always an issue. There are a couple of lovely items on ebay right now, for ~500$ each, really too much for me.
I got the Gothic Blimp Works years ago for decent prices, they are not so uncommon on ebay (or abebooks).

I was scoping the raw images from a scan I did of that Kiss v01n01 up there since I was gonna stick an old scan up at the Internet Archive today and saw this page which ties in to the little convo on Gothic Blimp Works, a full page ad.

Kiss1969-04-28p12.thumb.jpg.6e8b305fc554c3e63d3ee100b0f80c92.jpg

It's the last page of the cf wrap which is on a better stock (like the cover wrap) than the rest of the issue.  The inner spread of the cf reprints "The Adventures of Dicknose" from Jiz.  The back cover is in color with a page of Spain (not sure if it's a reprint, think Spain had a lot of first run material in the papers).  The Wiki calls Kiss "a short-lived spinoff" of EVO (who also published Gothic Blimp Works, obviously) and competitor/reaction to Screw.  I'm showing a run up to 33 minus a couple of issues of Kiss, so "short-lived" doesn't seem too appropriate.

Kiss, like Screw, is pretty depraved in terms of sex content and other freakishness, but so are the ug comix

Is there any source that sort of identifies the comics to be found in the underground papers or in the sex tabloids?

Kiss 01 (Dirty Old Man Scan/Dirty Old Man Edit):

It looks like the original Zodiac Mindwarp still needs a scan, wish I had that one -

While it's not an index of Kiss, this book is an excellent look at it and it's ilk, written by the legendary Bill Blackbeard under a clever pseudonym, thus lots on the comix to be found within.

Highly recommended if you don't have a copy! (One of my copies is actually an amazing association specimen that was inscribed by BB to Gary Arlington, one of my favorite books!)

I got my copy directly from Bruce, but it was many years ago now. Don't know if he still has any.

Neat!  I'll track it down.  I've got some Screw but I don't think too many.  I have scanned a couple of the early-ish ones. There's another gentleman at the Internet Archive that's done some, too (search Daniel D. Teoli there for a wild ride).

Here's a late edition I did happen to scan the cover for, Spain again

Screw1293(1993-12--13.Goldstein)coverSpain.thumb.jpg.6a74a1aaa0fe2184f7e6ed4a99e0a353.jpg

Death before marriage, lol. Lovely.  I've done a couple full scans of earlier issues with not quite so appealing covers.

I do have the run of National Screw but I imagine posting all those covers would be a no no :D  That's really a hell of a mag with plenty of comics appeal.

Too true!  I have all 9 of them as well!  More National Lampoon than Screw, to my eyes!

This is my favorite cover from the tabloid run, a Tom Sutton Delight, and an issue that should be in any EC collector's collection.  I daresay it includes W M Gaines last interview!!!
