Do you want us all to say, "No, Ian, I have not heard of these." Will that help?

I'll go first:

NO, IAN, I HAVE NOT HEARD OF THESE.

Thankyou.

At least I know.

Maybe I've discovered a Golden Age rarity hitherto undiscovered in the comic world.

Ian are these items actually published by DC & if not why bother with them, surely not just because it has a DC character in them as that would leave you open to getting lots of other comics published by other companies featuring a DC character?

They look the same as the Superman Tims, and the Superman Tim story takes up more than half the mini-comic.

Also, what about Triumph Magazine (is that the right name?) the DC reprints in England?

I decided against buying those. They're just UK reprints of US newspaper strips. On the other hand, those Joan And Ginger things look and feel so like the Superman-Tims that they HAVE to be worth pursuing. It's kind of borderline I guess. A bit like collecting the Wildstorms just because DC took them over.

Ian, Let me just correct you The Triumph magazine is not just another reprint of American stories, but The Reprint of American stories.

Given that it came out in 1939 and features an original Superman Cover (which would have been sanctioned by DC), the Triumph Mags are the earliest reprint of Superman material in comic (magazine) form and not just in the U.K.. Tying in with (i think) Superman #3 ?? in August 1939, surely even you must understand the importance of this issue in the British Marketplace, and even in the US marketplace (due to it's original cover).

Given that it much scarcer than any other Superman/Action comics issue, i don't think it's historic importance should be under estimated. Also i love my copy to bits grin.gif

You're making me regret not buying them now.

Well i did tell you to get them, oh well i suppose the up side is after people see the record price that was achieved for them, no doubt another one will surface.

But it's obvious I'm gonna complete the full set of every DC that was ever released for sale LONG before I complete the list of every DC promo and preview. I mean where will I BEGIN to ever find a copy of "Supergear" ?????

Out of curiosity, how many Triumphs were there with Superman strips ???

The 1990s giveaway causing the most problems, apart from the Flash TV Brochure, is the "Twisted Metal."

It clearly wasn't given away with the Sony Playstation games themselves.

Does anyone know what it might have been used for, in conjunction with the game ????

I'm guessing the seller was pleasantly surprised at the final bid price - one might even say they cleaned up!

I've no idea why, but somebody else was being incredibly persistent in trying to win it. Strange. Those kind of things usually don't go higher than five bucks. But I was equally determined to win it too.
