Glenn's final reply was very unprofessional:

Quoting:

GLENN... "go ---- yourself, OK"..."------- like you" ... "a 'board announcement' is going to bother me?" ... "person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed"

End quoting.

Regards,

Steve

Well, I don't have anything to do with this transaction, but that's a little harsh.

Now, Mephisto may want to edit his quote of yours...

I'd say you're within your rights to post this case, as he had a deal with you and then backed out. Mind you, I'm not sure if the details of the case have been changed since he first wanted the book or not, but many of the blood-thirsty forumites wouldn't care anyway.

Thanks for the update Andy,

Did you report Comcasthawk not paying up?

How many non-paying strikes are you allowed on the board?

With eBay you are out with 3.

Steve

No, I've never dealt with Comcasthawk or you before, so I cannot speak from experience here.

There's no set number of non-paying strikes, and there's also no way of getting booted off of the boards from being a poor buyer/seller. The Forum Sales area is supposed to be self-policed by its members and the mods generally try to stay away from disagreements here. This thread was created to allow other members to see which people to avoid buying and selling from. I can't stop you from making transactions with anyone on the Probation List, but the general idea is to stay away from those "problem members" until they clear up the mess that got them there in the first place. If someone on that list wants to get off it, he/she must make good on the transaction, or have the original finger-pointer forgive them and make a post to have them removed.

That's my interpretation, anyway.

I had someone want to back out of a deal unless I wanted to give them a discount because they had found a book they wanted more.
I told you that DCs take priority. (shrug)

I'm surprised he didn't want a significant discount also... hm

Jim

Isn`t he the one who went on same ridiculous rant about whatever price he wanted to pay is the price someone should be willing to sell to him, because it was "his money", or some similar nonsense? The sheer stupidity of that line of reasoning has continued to stick in my mind for some reason.
