Nothing wrong with a seller asking $500, but there is something wrong with agreeing on a deal, reneging, and then asking for more $$. In my opinion...

In an ideal world, sure, but we're taking about kijiji/craigslist flakes where anything goes.  I suppose someone could show up agreeing to the higher price and then beat them down in price after they see condition, that's the oldest buyer dirty trick around.  What's good for the goose is good for the gander...

Another weekend, another yard sale. Paid $70 after a little negotiation for this small stack of books. The guy kept bringing out his old boxes. I found the Sally Forth in between other adult comics sandwiched inside a porno mags box

The teenage nostalgia those Gen13 covers stir  :cloud9:. No matter how many copies I have, I always hang on to the mini-series and #1 variant issues when I find them in collections. It's recently spilled into a second short box.

Same, but for me it's early 20's nostalgia. I was working at comic shop when Gen 13 hit and it blew up big time. I was a big fan, had the toys, statues, the whole thing. I remember issue #1 being a $50+ wall book, so I buy them when I see them, even though I know that's no longer the case. I used to find tons of them for $1, and I have a pretty good stack that I picked up for a dollar. I'll buy pretty much any Gen 13 book for a buck, but these days I'm mostly hunting for newsstands, and later issues to complete my runs.  At this point the hardest issues for me to find are the mid/late issues of the 2006 series. I just never, ever see them. The last 15-20 issues or so (65-77) of the original ongoing are pretty uncommon as well, well worth picking up for a buck. I don't think they're really WORTH anything, but I just never see them out there, so on the rare occasion that I DO find one, I buy it. Over the last few years I've been able to assemble a nearly complete collection of Gen 13, spanning all of the volumes plus spinoffs, for about a buck each. Persistence pays off!

My fav is the absurdly huge #1 variant.  Not easy in high grade.

Not sure if this is too outside the spirit of this thread, but I saw an ad for a primarily table-top and card gaming store that said they had a small comic section. Checked it out a couple of hours ago, and they had a couple of shelves with "new-ish" releases and a few long boxes, plus a 50-cent box. Nothing was priced, so I asked the guy and he said "everything is just whatever the cover says."

Just one 50-center:

Nothing amazing but the location was wild.

WAY out in the sticks and based on some sketchy Facebook ad.  Right when I pulled up, some folks that I sell to were leaving so they got to pick through first.  Guy had an entire barn full of antiques and 14 long boxes of books.  We talked for a while and it turns out my landlord was the one who sold them to him!  CRAZY small world.  Now I gotta hound the landlord if he still has more.  Anyway, wasn't much in those boxes but pulled a handfull out that made sense for $1.

Where are the ones that are worth a dollar?
