Thanks for the interest in these everyone. Yes a Real Life 3 was found in an antique shop, As was a Batman 47. Unbelievable, Not sure what I want to do with them yet but will keep all interested parties posted.

Unelievable....especially at an antique shop! Care to divulge what you paid for those babies? I'm assuming it was a great deal.

 

If he didn't pay 90% of their FMV I'm sure the sharks here in CG will be out for blood saying he ripped off a little old lady and karma's going to swallow him whole. :o

There's plenty of room between paying 90% FMV for something and buying a million dollar Action #1 for a dollar.

This was somewhere in between. No little old lady. Anonymous dealer who had several short boxes marked "Collectors Comics" in a glass case. Never even met him. He wasn't giving them away. But he is not a comic guy per say so they were not priced according to the current market conditions.

I wasn't accusing you of anything. There's people here who don't see the difference betwee a good deal (25% FMV maybe?) and flat out robbery (a fraction of a percent of FMV?)

 

I'm one of the people who thinks its in poor taste to do the latter, but would congratulate someone on the former.

Yup, good buy for sure, congrats. Storeowner sells at a profit, but leaves room in the price to make a grown man dance like a little girl? Good for both of you! :grin:

 

No thought of keeping them? The replacement costs are going to be awful!
