Alright, bear with me. I got this for $20 at a rummage sale today, know nothing about it but it'll display great at my Flea Market booth. Should I try to clean it? Gonna see what I can find out about this on the web.

You do NOT want to clean this or any antique for that matter, it will lose most of it's value!

No. Never, ever, ever, ever clean antiques, especially one that has acquired a patina. Never. Ever.

So even the blue oxidation don't touch, huh? Thanks for the advice, gentlemen.

Gonna open it up to see if there's a glass bottle inside it should have.

Leave it alone, including (especially) the verdigris. Anyone with a wire brush can clean it. How many can put the patina back?

My gosh. I feel guilt from my post. Like a reckless teenager turned loose on the nets.

Don't clean the extinguisher! (tsk)

That is interesting that it says "To Play"

Why not To Use or To Start?

I would have thought that term didn't come into use until recorded media

Maybe it is a reference to the term "don't play with matches???"

hm

Nah.

GAMEBOY.jpg

Man I've been lucky the past few months. Hit up a garage sale That had a box full of gameboy accessories labeled for $1.50. Without even going through the whole box the lady says "$5". Sold. The Gameboys play and all the accessories are in their boxes.

Here's the box. What did I find in it?

ASM #1? A double cover comic? 50 copies of X-Force #1?

I bought all of the Marvel and DCs from this box. About 72 books total. Here are some highlights.

Holy Stromboli Batman! Great find! (worship)

I was in his kitchen drooling on them a day and a half ago.

Dang the JLA 1 paid for the whole lot and more. 3.5 for sure after press, shot at 4.0.

^^

$4 a book... that estate sale paid off. :headbang:

Had some Lois Lanes in the 20s that were nice mid grade, and a bunch of nicer mid grade Adam Strange too.
