Whats the best comic book story/story arc you have ever read?

Lots of great suggestions and lots of similar ones...great minds.

For me, a great arc within character continuity would have to be very different than anything around it and be able to stand alone and stand the test of time.

FF from the mid #30's to the mid #50's is the bedrock of the Marvel Silver Age. Just ridiculously creative.

Jim Starlin's Warlock saga is so deep and so convoluted that really, I don't know if anything will be that complex and entertaining again. It's at the top of my list.

Green Lantern #76 onwards was so brutal in it's honesty. Great read.

X-men #94 to #143 (as someone else said) was one of those runs I could hardly wait to get the next issue of.

Honorable mention goes to Marvel Mystery Comics #8-10 which, as infantile as it was, really set the corner stone for a budding universe with it's crossover battle between the Human Torch and the Sub-mariner. The first time two heroes left their universes and intersected on a common ground. We can thank Burgos and Everett, and their shared drawing chores in one story, for all the cross overs and universes to come afterwards.

Whew.

R.

Some I didn't see mentioned:

Maus

Lone Wolf & Cub (greatest epic ever -- 8600 pages of superb story and art)

My favorite humor reads:

Mythadventures 1 - 8

Cerebus "High Society" issues 26-50

I'll throw this out for nostalgia's sake cuz it was amazing when I was a kid:

GI Joe 26-27 the origin of snake-eyes blew my mind. War & ninjas, what more could a 10 year old possibly need from comics?

The clone saga :tonofbricks:
:roflmao: :roflmao:

the BA version ruled, period.

Unfortunately the 90's drove it into the ground just like every semi-popular character

or story line by making hundreds of mini series and cameos until your head exploded!

If he really wanted to be covered in bricks he should of said:

Maximum Carnage!

lol
