So, are you really saying that the IGB 9.8 graded copy is going to sell for more than this CGC 3.5 graded copy?  :baiting:  lol

Depends on how much more it will be shilled.

I'm a little more conservative than J

For 1.0 it really depends on visual and pq (we've seen slightly and brittle copies really underperform compared to nicer pq)

33-15k+

The tec 31 closing tonight can be had for a lot less than $25k

$13,350 for the 0.5 Q

Looks like somebody came in and sniped it at the last second since it was sitting at only $8,600 with a few seconds left.

Seems like a pretty strong price for a really fugly looking Qualified 0.5 graded copy.

And to show that not all 0.5 copies are the same, this is a nicer looking copy (albeit with no back cover) that CC had auctioned off back in 2015:

Went from 8.6 to 10.x to 11.y to final price in the last minute.

Any bets it would have gone higher if they had been using CC's 3-minute extended bidding format instead?  hm

Probably, but it likely would have capped at 15.

Wow that 0.5 cap 1 that also had a full married cover AND resto with trimming went for nearly $7k more. :ohnoez:

-J.

Not all 0.5s are created equal. That 0.5 blew the Tec out of the water.

clink has a boatload of gems including the nice prerobin run.  hoping it goes under the radar a bit, however unlikely, as there are a few books i really want and would love to have less competition.

Discussion on these boards will bring some attention to them

One thing to remember is that Bob Storms does not impose restrictions on his consignors like some other dealers do.

So the fellow shopping around the Larson 'Tec 37 can ask whatever price he wants, including twice what it had recently sold for in auction, no matter how bad that looks (and make no mistake, it does look greedily bad).

With Jon Berk selling off, no one is a bigger Larson fan/collector than me but I am not interested in that particular book at all at that price, especially knowing who the seller is (and as noted above, he tried to peddle the book here unsuccessfully, plus his exposed shilling history is something I personally won't tolerate).

Great book, but no sale. This is not HighGradeComics fault of course, but the consignor's fault.
