Message board nostalgia.

A little limerick to rekindle some of that old fashioned forum nostalgia...

Those wonderful boys from the NOD

on a mission to uncover fraud.

Though seeking out pressing

instead were undressing

and inspecting each other's bod.

They wailed and they moaned,

“Poor sacred tome. You lot should be stoned.”

To decry monetary gain was the attack

Though mighty the call

On deaf ears it did fall

And pressing is now the new black

I too miss Nik

I miss enjoying comics (cause I dont enjoy them right now, Im sure it will change eventually)

I miss going to shows, as I only made Heroes this year

I miss my friends

I miss RedHook before he went round the twist

I miss coming on here and enjoying the hell out of this place. Now, i just check PM's mostly

I dont miss RedHook after he went round the twist

I dont miss CapFreak

I dont miss the soap box that people got on, yours included, when pressing was being discussed

I dont miss Mark Zaid and his holier than thou attitude

Gee, that's strange because I miss you.

I've often lost sleep at night pondering where our relationship went wrong. It is a burden some of us must live with. Sigh. :eyeroll:

Man, you're hilarious. lol That's some pretty creative spin. :applause:

About the "only takes" BS... I've had my rare moments of board contribution. Remember that ST 128 Ewert coffin-nail? I found and posted the matching scan that confirmed a trim was applied, game over Mr. E..

Remember that Northland Hulk Annual where a foremost pedigree expert "forgot" it was a pedigree when it was re-submitted to CGC, when it was unpacked upon return, when it was scanned for eBay, when the eBay auction text was written, and when it was shipped to the new owner? Well, lets just say a board thread helped jog some dormant brain cell, helped reinstate the book's actual lineage.

So, yeah, it hasn't been "only takes". If I had something helpful to add, I did.

^^

And, before anyone asks, I have contributed absolutely nothing to these boards, with the exception of nonsense, idiocy and tomfoolery, in 28312 posts. I did, however, enjoy every damn one of them.

:acclaim:

i might change the order, but other than that you pretty much nailed it.

First thing I've nailed in a long, long time.

hahahahahahahahahahaha. but you nailed the rejoinder, my man!!!!

Not nearly as witty. Don't you all have a funny bone department... oh, wait.

Here's a little ditty, made while you wait,

'Bout fun little thing all the haters hate.

Comics made pretty, all nice and flat

Draws the accusation that we're all

Wearing an Azz-hat.

Fingh to the rescue, cause Roy's a dope.

Words to this fool are like a length of rope.

Watson on point guard, QBing the play.

With every other post, pointing out

What is...

Oops.

lol

I removed what I said. It just isnt worth the time. Not tossing stones on this one Marc, but we both have better things to do than toss barbs at each other for no reason.

Mea Culpa, im stopping it on my end.

I really, really miss the days of Hammer. He brought a flair of drama to these boards that has been sorely missing. Say what you will about the guy, and I agree with all the critisisms, he was in class all by himself.

Taking threads into directions that no one else has, he could be throwing out bits of vast knowledge of comics one minute, then spitting venom about how he was Master of the Universe and we are all his disiples, we should be bowing to his GREATNESS, tremble with fear for he was "juiced" up to 250lbs. He would take a simple disagreement over the smallest detail and elavate to record highs (or lows, depending on your POV). -

Whatever he was, whether he was contributing to a thread with some value, offering Supapimp $50,000 to met up and "rumble" or throwing his overflated feelings of narcissism upon us, he was ALWAYS amusing....It's too bad he decided to use his intellegence for evil and not good....

I could go into all the things I don't miss (gman's blatant flipping, the "crash" threads, the "Ewert-gate threads ad nauseum).....

But, I won't go there...Instead I want to focus on our dearly departed Hammer/Comic-Keys/Rojo/Danny/Richard Koos...... meh

Some of the greatest debate threads of all time were FFB and Hammer going tooth and nail over on the ComicsPriceGuide boards. The amount of information that flowed was staggering. Respectful exchange, but hyper-strong points and counter-points. Good stuff :cloud9: Scrubbed clean from the net now. Not surprising.

I miss TomMurnane

Whoever that guy was he was stone-cold fearless about holding feet to fire. The MD20/20 in the Koolaid. Got him the boot.

But... he posted straight-up evidence that was near impossible to spin-away. Usually with some flair.

"The dealer who purchased the GL 12 qualified w/ cover and first 5 wraps detached from the top staple back in October on Ebay which has now shown up in Comiclink's focus auction as a unrestored blue label 9.0 is...."

Godspeed TomMurnane, wherever you are.
