HEROES 2012!

Hah! Me too. :)

131 Main caught on fire yesterday... I imagine it will be back up before the show, but still...

I still think you guys should check out VBGB with its huge patio, cornhole, ping pong, awesome beer selection, and great BBQ... provided everyone plans to get out before the Friday night craziness kicks in.

Queen City Q also just opened in the old LaVecchia's spot on the corner of 7th and the light rail. As I understand it, the original chef from Mac's BBQ created the menu here. I've fallen off on Mac's lately, but this place was pretty good. (also a good beer selection and an outside patio)

The Liberty on South Blvd (near the East/West light rail station) is about the same cost as 131... good food and also an interesting beer list.

Hickory Tavern and La Paz have also both just recently opened in the Met area (between Stonewall and Charlotte Town Centre near the Target and Trader Joe's. Both have decent outside areas and probably won't get TOO crowded. (I've always found La Paz to be way overpriced) (There is also Dressler's and Vivace right next door... both are a little more expensive... Vivace is one of my favorite places to eat (Italian), but I'm not sure it's ideal for a party unless you can get the upstairs)

As an aside, another new place called Brazz opened on The Green (next to Fuel pizza right across from the Convention Center). I'm not sure how their weekends or nights go, but during the week, the lunch is all-you-can-eat for $12. At night it's a brazillian style steakhouse... really good value for lunch.

Hickory Tavern is a good addition to the options; however, I have seen it get pretty damn busy before at the location near where I live in Steele Creek. I would imagine that the one uptown can get just as busy, if not even busier.

Has anybody ever considered Buffalo Wild Wings at the NASCAR HOF? It is right next to the convention center. Nothing exactly special about the food, but it is fairly priced, and (although that particular location doesn't participate) most BWW locations are used to accommodating crowds because they host the WWE and UFC pay-per-view events on a monthly basis. Like I said, it's not exactly fancy, but it's close by and should have plenty of room. Plus with the cheaper meal than places like 131 Main, it leaves more money for everybody to spend elsewhere. Maybe I'm partial to BWW because I attend the PPVs on a monthly basis, though...

I would fully expect at least 1 or two more names almost on a weekly basis up until the end of May unless they have just decided to change the way they have done it for years. It may actually be that they just can't get commitments until that close on certain people and there are always cancellations to equal it out.

I certainly hope so. I only posed a concerned because he has announced a ton of people already and quite a few of them seem like "big" names to me already. I figured we were running out of room and out of "big" names at this point. I'm looking forward to what is coming soon.

And as for cancellations, I absolute hate just the idea of it. I know things like that are generally unavoidable, but If Snyder cancels, I'm rioting. rantrant

Heroes always holds out the BIG names until weeks prior to the show. :)

Good to know. As I said, this is only my second show, and I was out of the loop prior to last year's show. I only have the information that you all give as far as the normal routine of things, including the announcing of guests. I guess I was just wondering about it because it seemed like a lot of "big" names were already announced and things have been slowly quieting down since then. Looking forward to seeing who else he can come up with.

Buffalo Wild Wings. It's kind of noisy for a large group but not horrible for a a group of about 5 or 6. I tried a big group outing there the year after it opened and it was hard to hear because of the televisions. They could probably accomodate though if you asked for the volume to come down in a section. Love me some BWIII though.

Thanks for posting the link. After yesterday's update, I would've assumed that it would be a few days more before the next batch, and probably would have missed this until next week.
