Cat
I'm torn on this new Cyclops from DST. I love the sculpt, and it's my favourite costume, currently only represented in my statue/bust collection by the Kotobukiya bust with the weird rotating base (beautiful piece, just a bit odd). On the other hand, I don't feel the paintjob is quite up to snuff. The paint looks (to me) like it lacks refinement, and is a bit thick, not the slick applications we expect these days. I feel this way about most DST resin paintjobs. Here's the piece in question: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/167795 Anyone have any thoughts on it? I'd love other opinions to help sway my purchasing decision one way or the other.

I think Bowen did a statue of this costume, wonder what that's going for? Iconic1s

I didn’t assemble exactly as I imagined, and parts that I was sure were cloth ended up being polystone but every difference was for the better! To be honest, I am not a huge fan of what they have done with this character since the Batman Animated Series but this was too cool to pass on. It was worth the wait! Great job Sideshow! Reveal hidden contents Added this book to the display today thanks to @Blastaar Though they went well together, roller skates and all. GoldCap
I recently picked up just my second ever statue and I must say this Bowen Designs Faux Bronze Thor blows me away! I'm definitely going to pick up others from the series. I'm already stressing about how much the glass panel can hold though profholt82 and Iconic1s

I think through google I found that most of the tempered glass that size, holds about 15 pounds or thereabouts...... But I've often wondered the same, or even cutting thicker stronger glass to size, to see if I then felt better about it Things like this really should be in the description when buying a detolf or etc It looks great though! JazzMan
I pre ordered the Stan Lee deluxe from Iron Studios a year ago and it showed up today. Popular Post profholt82
I don't have many comic related statues, but I did pick up this Batgirl from DC Direct a while back. I saw a different one at a store, and thought they did a terrible job on Barbara's face, so I decided to do a bit of research and found this one. I love it. I’m not an engineer or anything but that doesn’t disperse the weight evenly. Either way, I think you will be okay (knock on wood). Here’s a few pics of how much I’ve had on mine for the past few years with no problems, although the shelves are supported on all edges (knock on wood again). Congrats on the Faux Bronze Thor too!! Very nice!! P.S. The Sideshow Batman is super heavy too with the sculpted cape! Mmanick
what places would you guys say is the best places to buy statues? I recently have been buying from facebook groups and joined a statue forum. The forum seems pretty dead but the FB groups have been pretty legit so far.
