Wow, is that in addition to the 4.0 you recently got back from CGC?

Yeah, I've had this Pence copy for a while. The census says it's the single highest graded Pence copy. I suppose sooner or later another pence will grade higher, but until then I like the thought of having a "highest graded" AF15.

$900 less than what it just sold for five months ago.... :tonofbricks:

But $2100 more than what it sold for 15 months ago.

and here I thought it was roughly a 6k/point book based on many recent posts...

lol That "PPP" math breaks down once you get past 1.8.

I'm not sure that method of pricing could ever effectively be used for AF 15.

I have to agree with Jay. I doubt that the line of best fit is linear. They eye watering prices we see for HG books indicates something other than a straight line.

Has anyone taken a good look at the 4.0 AF15 in the heritage auction?

I noticed it's a copy that's had color touch removal (has the telltale scrapes). I assumed that it had Marvel Chipping but upon closer inspection I've determined that it's not Marvel Chipping at all... the free edge has had a ton of CT scraped off so that it "looks" like marvel chipping.

Because of the amount of CT scraped off I am simply amazed that this received a 4.0 Blue.

I'm thinking this one won't even come close to GPA averages for 4.0 (although nothing should surprise when AF15s are involved).

I 100 percent agree with this. Looks lower than a 4.0 to me as well.

Looks like a combo pack of colour touch removal and marvel chipping to me.

Bit of a gift grade should be a 3.5 IMO.

The bidder on that book was BRILLIANT. Blocked another bid by throwing out an internet bid $5 over the next increase. So when someone bid him up, the prior was 5 dollars and thus the bidder would have had to go at least the cut to top him.
