Not a comic but just noticed this near the end of the movie “Once” that takes place in Dublin Ireland

Captain America’s Cookhouse and Bar

Edit: movie was filmed in 2007 but the restaurant is still there! Link

I had dinner there and they let me take a menu as souvenir.  Not sure what became of it...

One of my favorite movies - True Romance. Video is age restricted for language and some sexy-time (the comics part ends around the 1 minute mark).

At 0:43 seconds: "Wanna see what Spider-Man number 1 looks like?" Then she responds like my wife does when I ask if she wants to see the cool new comic I just bought, and then he proceeds to show her a completely different book anyway... xD

The story being talked about was actually in Sgt. Fury #18, and was about Fury losing his ring, not Spidey.

The comic shown is Sleepwalker #8.
The two spinner-rack books are Sgt Fury Annual’s #6 & 7.

Not sure if these have been mentioned yet, but in Paul the title character can be seen going through a comic book rack of Spawn and various Image comics. Also in Superbad at the party that Jay and Seth are taken to by Frances there's a gigantic Spawn #22 poster behind the door of one of the bedrooms. Couldn't find any pics, sorry.

I don't know if this is just getting in the way, but in the second screenshot, third book down on the right is clearly a copy of 'Avengers United They Stand'. It'd be easy to narrow down which issue because it only ran for something like 12 issues (it was based on the much-maligned cartoon, which I actually enjoyed, it was basically a West Coast Avengers cartoon).

confused -- and maybe a ROM expert should chime in here but is that this issue with a Jan 83 cover date?

i can't quite place the Thor issue which is really annoying me. I'm guessing that they just threw a bunch of issues in the rack without any amount of continuity.

If you look 3 racks over and up a bit, there's another issue of ROM. Looks like the same issue, but super hard to tell.

Iron Maiden members being interviewed in a comic shop for british TV show 20th Century Box in 1980 - xcreened in 1981; viewable on youtube809962132_ironmaiden1.thumb.jpg.99608955a2a0fcc3e791b2635f7c4548.jpg

It seems likely this would be "Dark They Were And Golden Eyed" due to it;s proximity to the Marquee club also featured - but I can't see their familiar price stickers on the books - had they stopped stickering copies by late 1980? - a little befiore my time.
