Superman2006
Wayne-Tec - Yeah, it looks like yours was printed without red color as well, although yours has some some sort of red coloring on parts of the front cover. It looks a bit uneven on Cap's shield; perhaps it is was applied after it printed (via colored pencil or something)?
Wayne-Tec
There's no CT. What's really interesting is that I've only seen two copies with this printing defect. Does anyone have scans of any others?
Wayne-Tec
Caught this cool list of Marvel movie easter eggs this morning: LINK There were three nods to Captain America Comics #1. And there should really be four if you count the scene in Captain America: The First Avenger when the kids are reading copies of Cap #1.

Jordysnordy
I know this is a long shot but here goes! I am looking for the owner of Captain America Comics # 1 CGC 8.0. I do not know the CGC serial number of the book but the book does have the letter "B" pencilled in the M in America. Here is a (small) picture of the book raw. Thanks. Can anyone help me out with this?
Ameri
This is a Cap 1 I bought in the 90's and the second scan is after I had it restored and then I sold it. The centerfold was married with pages that had no margins and the restorer added the margins and new staples. Would probably get the extensive label. I'd love to know who has it now. RESTORED

Marvel Zombie
so, what did the resto grade turn out to be? mod 8.
Ameri
I don't know if the person I sold it to ever had it graded. It looks nice but there's a lot of color touch in the red and white stripes.
jgallo
Better question is who did the resto work... Today I would leave that book alone but in the 90s resto wasn't so taboo.... James G

James G Arent most of the restored Mega Keys pre-CGC era jobs Edit: I was under the impression that with the arrival of CGC, resto books were in a non-legit way stigmatized (given "the plod") as products of ill intent. I.e. "deathrow books" that longtime collectors got burned on. I could be wrong though ... Edited November 6, 2014 by Marvel Zombie

Jaydogrules
This thread needs a ! Sign me up for this club Wayne-Tec! It took several months, but I was finally able to close on this with Greg Reece! An original owner book, and I am definitely doing the happy dance! The scan doesn't do it justice, as it is much brighter in hand. (And yes, the sale is going to be reported to GPA.) (thumbs u -J.

Jaydogrules
Cap 1 club is exclusive but even more exclusiver is Cap 1 5.0 club. I have been so lonely last 7 years now we are buddies! Only seven total possible members for the "Cap 1 Sub-Club". I can only wish I was able to buy in seven years ago though. Better late than never I suppose! -J.
