I give credit to Marvel for scoring the short victory, but in the long term I like how the other publishers are going about it.

I think it is encouraging that top 100 means over 20K, I thought it was worse than that once you get into the 70s, etc. of course, those are terrible numbers, but I guess it's just enough to make publishing a title worthwhile for the big 2 and I guess can be lower for the other companies.

My crunching of the Star Wars title numbers for October:

http://swcomiccollector.blogspot.com/2015/11/5-star-wars-issues-top-100000-copies-in.html

It is interesting to see that the Star Wars titles are even dropping month to month now. How long before the best selling title is below the Snyder Batman numbers?

You know this only means one thing then..

MORE REBOOTS TO COME

This gag has got to get old at some point.

I am beginning to wonder if the way to play the non-Deadpool reboots is to just pay the initial cost from your LCS for the best variants and leave it at that. While I like flipping the new #1s for a quick 2x or 3x at shows, there are way too many duds from the continuous Marvel reboots.

The Batman numbers are also falling. In fact, they fell at a faster rate than the Star Wars numbers the past few months.

I suspect the Star Wars title will be okay through the Vader Down storyline. After that (shrug) Who would have thought Star Wars titles would have done as well as they have this year? Almost 1 million Star Wars issues sold in October alone is not an insignificant number of comics.

What I find fascinating is there is a strong correlation between variants and how well the issues sell. More variations = more issues sold. That makes me believe a lot of top titles are propped up by variants, not on the merits of the comics themselves.
