‘Deadpool’ Trailer Missing Scenes? Director Talks Stan Lee Omission

 

If you were one of the lucky few who were in Hall H during the FOX panel during San Diego Comic-Con , you saw the first trailer for Deadpool. The trailer shown then and the one the rest of the world got is slightly different. The key difference is the omission of some scenes featuring some well-known comic book professionals.

 

This includes Deadpool creator, Rob Liefeld and Stan Lee -- who needs no introduction.

 

So why were they taken out of the final Deadpool trailer? Thankfully, Deadpool director Tim Miller sat down with Empire to break down the entire trailer and he explains the omission of Stan Lee and Rob Liefeld.

 

"The Comic-Con trailer was a little bit longer. This version had to be shorter, for whatever reason, so the things that got taken out were a couple of real in-joke things that, again, wouldn’t necessarily play to a general audience. Stan Lee was in the Comic-Con trailer, and there was another shot with Rob Liefeld, Deadpool’s creator. Those moments were for the Comic-Con fans. It went over so well at Comic-Con. Everybody there was so primed to like this film. It didn’t go to my head at all. I came out just thinking, 'F***, now we really have to deliver!' We were kind of under the radar before, at least within Fox. That’s all over now..."
