"All things Inhuman"

Question guys (and this one's hopefully not as stupid):

I notice the CGC label on 45 says it's the first appearance of the inhumans then specifies them and which ones first appear in this issue, including black bolt.

Then the label on 46 states something to the effect of "first full appearance of black bolt".

This seems to defy how CGC usually does its labeling, and for good reason I would think....Black bolt actually made not one, but two full appearances in the main story of 45. It wasn't just a "cameo" appearance or partial appearance on the last page as a lead in to the next issue as is the case with wolvie or carnage and others of the like. I would assume this is why it is not noted as such on the label for 45 as just a "cameo".

So why does the CGC label not simply say "2nd appearance", or better yet, nothing, since 2nd appearances are not normally noted on the label (there are exceptions of course)?

They talk about meeting him through the story, but he only appears in the last page. It actually is pretty similar to Hulk 180, who is mentioned once (as Weapon X) before appearing.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't crystal introduce Johnny to ALL of the inhumans (including black bolt) much earlier in the story ?

I don't think so as I read this through a few months ago looking to answer exactly the same question - someone else could maybe confirm.

If I recall throughout the book there is suspense about meeting him, which happens in a classic last page reveal.

I would double check except someone stole my raw copy and I only have a slabbed one now. Perhaps someone else can confirm either way ?

A CGC 8.0 just sold on ebay for around $875.

That didn't last long.....

Incredible :screwy:

only 20% higher than the copy that sold prior to the movie rumor/news. doesn't seem absurd. now the guy asking $2900 for a 9.0 on ebay, that's :screwy:

Actually less it sold for 850.00

I get a monthly email the last few months from Heritage asking to buy my 9.0 copy for $900. I always immediately decline. I assume it's the same person but maybe not... hm

Did you buy the book from Heritage ? That sounds very annoying.

Yes. Quite. But it's an easy dismiss. Apparently you can search the archives and make the offers. Maybe the person is double-checking your Registry as well... (shrug)

Just got an offer today for $1200! :o

I think this book has some real staying power. If you sell your 9.0, I just don't think you will be able to replace it for the same in the future. Besides, you collect FF's. Don't sell !

But it looks like #45 is going to make #48 seem cheap in comparison.

The real interesting thing to watch in the next couple of years -- and maybe beyond -- is how 45 will over-take 48 in both market value and collector interest. 48 has always been an FF key (not so 45, until very recently), but the challenge with 48 is that Fox -- not Marvel Studios apparently has film rights to Galactus and Silver Surfer.

FF 52 overtook 48 as well and someone here got in a twist about that, he was like "It can't be worth more than 48!" I said unfortunately 48 is yesterday's key

I can't help but think that, in the long term, FF 48 will have higher demand than either 45 or 52. The Surfer, even when he wasn't appearing anywhere, has always been the focus of a lot of collector interest.

Don't sell. You won't be able to replace it later. High grade FF 45 and 46s will go higher. Great Kirby art, awesome Stan Lee story and two of the best covers of the Silver Age. Once the movie announcement is confirmed at NYCC than all hell will break loose
