Suicide Squad movie coming

I guess this is one way to grab headlines. But this is an extensive review of the movie.

Comicbookmovie.com Suicide Squad Review: DC Has F*cking Arrived

THE STORY

When a malevolent supernatural force attacks Midway City, there’s no Last Son of Krypton to protect us. Stoic and shady government official, Amanda Waller, decides it time to put a cabal of some of very bad people together.

The story is good. It’s an easy concept (convicted super-villains go on black ops missions for the government in exchange for reduced or commuted sentences). The squad is a response team of sorts; a cleanup crew. They’re sent in to handle the situation when nothing else works.

THE CHARACTERS

I’m going to be honest, this movie is all about Harley Quinn and Deadshot. They receive the most development and attention, leaving the other squad members, a bit shafted. Everyone has a REALLY badass moment where they truly shine.

THE STANDOUTS

Smith is great as Deadshot. Yes, he is kind of playing himself, but he’s not phoning it in by any means. He commits. His chemistry with the cast is great. He and Flagg have a fiery and antagonist relationship that’s fun to watch. Let me tell you, he truly is deadly from 4,000 meters. His action sequences were the most impressive to me. And he HATES BATMAN. PURE HATRED.

Robbie is amazing as Harley Quinn. She brings an energy and zeal that’s impossible not to love. The Brooklyn accent is on point.

Leto is unsurprisingly great. His performance is excellent. You’re not watching Jared Leto, you’re watching…. here’s where my problem comes in. In some scenes, he’s pure Joker, in others, he’s a run of the mill mobster/gangster. Joker is in this film for a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery brief time.

CONCLUSION

In short, I LOVE THIS FILM! I’ll admit, it won’t be for everyone. Some of the elements may alienate the GA. But this film deserves to be and should be a hit. It’s the most fun I’ve had at the movies since Civil War. I will say its the second best CBM of the year. In my opinion, better than Deadpool, but not as good as Civil War.

Overall Score: 8.5/10.0

It looks like August was going to be a Chinese box office “domestic movie protection period" across the board, but due to a slump in box office ticket sales it is allowing some movies to be released that month.

Amid Box Office Downturn, China Lifts Ban On Summer Hollywood Movies

In an unprecedented move, Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and Warner Bros.’ The Legend of Tarzan will see July Chinese release dates, while Universal’s The Secret Life of Pets and Ice Age: Collision Course will find August debuts in the country.

The change could significantly boost the box office of those films–and shows how desperate local forces are to offset sluggish ticket sales in the second quarter of 2016. (For the first time in years, China’s box office intake shrank in Q2, down 5% from the same time last year.)

Suicide Squad doesn't have appeared to make the August release list.

Plus and minus mentions.

Overall: Harley and Joker relationship was very believable and complemented one another, and all the actors killed it with their character portrayals in a story that was briskly paced.

There’s even less of Ben Affleck, who looks like he showed up only because someone at Warners threw up the Bat-Contractual Obligation Signal. lol

Seems pretty spot on. I'm not sure your point...

PS: I will say Winter Soldier should probably be a 9 or 10.

I find it odd that he gives Thor a 9/10 and Iron Man a 7/10 but this is a 3/10? you don't see anything odd here?

Of course not, you are a Marvel Zombie.

both Marvel movies aren't that high as I'm sure this isn't a 3/10.

Why am I a Marvel Zombie? Those were all pretty good movies.

How are you so sure this is a good film?

I don't know but I do know that it isn't a 3/10 if other reviewers aren't giving it those scores.

Wake up!
