techvoodoo
That first look trailer was pretty terrible. I didn't even want to watch the whole thing. Very uninspired and typical from WB/DC. Other than Gotham, which has it's flaws, DC has done nothing to impress me in a long time.

Other than Gotham, which has it's flaws, DC has done nothing to impress me in a long time. I wouldn't say it was terrible, however it's all a matter of opinion. I would argue that it doesn't need to be inspired, as long as we get all the Super clichés... saving planes, stopping trucks, bashing bad guys, naff secret identity etc. Give it a go (thumbs u ...Unless of course you're not a fan of Supergirl. In which case don't As for Gotham, yes it does have its flaws... the major one being Alfred's a mockney
Bosco685
The SUPERGIRL Series Described As "The Annie Hall Of Superheroes" By Producer Now in an interview with Variety the series lead Melissa Benoist discussed the upcoming series, and revealed that the show's producer Greg Berlanti described the series as "the Annie Hall of superheroes." In case you don't get the reference, Annie Hall is a critically acclaimed romantic comedy film directed by Woody Allen. "Not only because she’s a strong female and a female hero which I think is so important and will speak to so many people at this time right now in the world. I also was so drawn to her humanity, even though she is an extraterrestrial with powers." Benoist told Variety, when asked about what drew her to the role. "I was drawn to how flawed and complicated she is. She’s more complicated than you see in superheroes nowadays. Greg breathed that life into her from the get-go. He even said to me in one of the auditions, 'She’s like the Annie Hall of superheroes' — and that sealed the deal for me."
NewEnglandGothic
She looks dorky and human. I think that appeal will come across well to audiences. Agreed. Hiring an awkward Sandy Bullock-type is always better than hiring a model/beauty queen if you want to connect with the diverse mainstream. Chances are if the went with a Alexandra Daddario or Julianne Hough-type (maybe too old), audiences would want to see her flattened by a Kryptonite meteor every week, where they tend to root for the girl next door more in death trap scenarios. Bosco685
Executive producer Greg Berlanti on the chances of Supergirl crossing over with Arrow and The Flash However, given that Supergirl will air on a different network to her fellow DC superheroes, it would seem the chances are slim, and indeed CBS chairman Nina Tassler confirmed as much back in January. Still, Berlanti himself hasn’t quite given up hope, telling Variety that: “The network has said publicly at this point they’re going to keep her to themselves. I always approach the shows as a fan first, so I would love to see [a crossover]. I think in success, all things are possible. But there’s a lot that would have to happen before everybody might say yes to that.”

NewEnglandGothic
Awesome! Special thanks to CBS, for cancelling the torture-porn like 'Stalker'* tonight to make room for actually uplifting television shows. I give Criminal Minds a minor pass because a lady is in charge of a lot of the writing.
