GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Concept Art Reveals New Team Roster; First Look At Mantis

To get fans excited for Marvel's presence at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International, director James Gunn has decided to release new official concept art from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, featuring the team you've come to know and love with, of course, a few new additions. The artwork from Marvel Studios' concept artist Andy Park gives us our first look at Pom Klementieff as Mantis. She'll be making her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as one of the newest members of Guardians. Also joining the team are Gamora's (Zoe Saldana) not-so-friendly sister Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Yondu Udonta (Michael Rooker).

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailer Description And Kurt Russell’s Role Finally Revealed

Yondu has new fin, it’s the means by which he controls his whistling arrow. Groot is still a sapling. In the footage, Yondu and rocket are prisoners of the ravashers. Groot is kept as a pet of the Ravashers. Groot retrieves Yondu’s fin while the Ravashers sleep. Once Yondu retrieves the fin, he lays waste to his mutinous crew. The song “Come A Little Bit Closer” plays over it, likely a song on Awesome Mix vol 2.

Ego the Living Planet? Really? Um...okay then...

Kurt Russell Confirmed as Ego the Living Planet in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Kurt Russell is playing a BIG Marvel villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Russell was confirmed as Ego the Living Planet in a new trailer that debuted during Marvel Studios' big Hall H presentation Saturday night at SDCC. Not only will Russell be playing the classic Marvel movie, the trailer also revealed that Ego is (allegedly) Peter Quill's father in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

ComicBook.com's own LucasSiegel was at the panel and gave us all the juicy details. Russell emerged from a giant egg-shaped "thing" and introduced himself to Peter and the other Guardians as Ego. Ego explained to Peter that he came to Earth to experience what it was like to be human. In order to do that, Ego created what he thought a biological being looked like.

Although he has been confirmed in the film, the role is still unclear even after a video was shared at the SDCC.

James Gunn Explains The Importance Of Sylvester Stallone In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2.

During yesterday’s much-anticipated Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic Con, news broke that Sylvester Stallone had joined onto Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2. Rumors began circulating about the action star’s involvement earlier this year, but now, it seems like Rocky Balboa’s creator is heading to the great, big boxing ring in the sky. And, according to James Gunn, fans can expect to see Stallone filling in a key role.

Speaking with CinemaBlend’s Sean O’Connell, the director said Stallone’s character has, “a very, very key, important role. It’s not a huge role. He’s a great and key supporting character.”

Agreed. They could have done much better, but seeing as the first movie turned out so well I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this lame pick working. :wishluck:

I imagine they have a plan.

A bit more imaginative and interesting than Starhawk, though, which was heavily speculated.
