Hi all - I know this is a couple of months late but can anyone tell me why this copy of Terrifying Tales #12 sold for so much more than guide?

http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=18034&Lot_No=74487&src=pr#Photo

There's a nice looking 7.0 on eBay right now for BIN $200. (shrug)

$537! That's nuts - It looks much nicer than 5.0 as the damage is aparently all on the back cover, and I can see it going for over guide, but the book is hardly difficult to find, even in nice shape. It looks like there was aggressive bidding for the run of 11-13 on Heritage regardless of condition or restoration. Even the VF- #11 at the same price seems like too much to pay.

Thought it was a bit high. Hadn't seen numbers 11 and 13. So how is it that all of them went for exactly $537.75? If my math is right that means a bid of $450. plus BP. But all 3? That would mean at least 2 bidders with the same very high bids on all 3, correct? Very odd. Especially given that one was restored and one was 7.5 and none of the 3 were slabbed. hm(shrug)

Shoot, I would have sold them my CGC 8.0 #12 for less than that.

Holy Hannah H.!! :applause: Are all those H's for Horror? hm

I'll never tell...

Ironically, turns out Hannah was also the name of one of my great grandmothers, and I was completely unaware of it. Spooky.
