Post Your Top 3 Personal Comic Book/Original Art Acquisitions of 2016!

It's actually been an exceedingly light year for me. I've been very disciplined in not going nuts, at least not every week anyway.

I supposed it would be these.

Always wanted a copy of this book, but primarily for the cover. Could care less about the rodent.

Overpaid for this one, but I didn't care. This 9.6 is literally better than all my 9.8s. Not sure why it didn't grade higher.

And then there's this. Simply because it's BADAZZ.

For the cover AND the Satana story. ;)

Actually Rocky Raccon's is not bad either, they just hacked him into something different with "modern" Marvelmess…

I love looking through this thread every year. My jaw always drops. Great pickups everyone!

In 2015, I finished my ASM run from 2-441 (still no 1 or AF 15). Earlier this year I ran across this 50 on an Ebay BIN. When it arrived it was in much better condition than I initially thought. It sparked an ASM upgrading desire which continues to this day. I have since upgraded many more issues, mainly Silver Age.

My best OA acquisition of the year is this page from TMNT #5 by Eastman and Laird. I love OA pages from the first 11 TMNT issues (when E&L worked together), and I wanted one which prominently featured the Turtles. This one had lots of Turtles, with lasers to boot. What more could you ask for?

IMG_2416_zpshwlvigrv.jpg

My third sort of combines the two above. I acquired this 1989 Spider-man sketch by Kevin Eastman earlier this year.

Well there are probably 5, but i'm working on completing a subset so one book won't be shown here yet, but it was probably my crowning achievement this year. But these are CLOSE as they were LONG TIME grails.

2 of my favorite pickups this year aren't even complete comics.

This came out 2 weeks before Tec 27 from what I can determine.

Money Shot page 7 from Sup 1

Spectacular acquisitions everyone and to the OP this is literally one of my favorite annual threads (thumbs u

The last 3 yrs I have been extremely blessed to pick up some super neat stuff some of it being relatively rare and tough to locate. Nothing to write home about as far as high grade or anything but this year was no exception. I couldn't possibly narrow it to just 3 but here are my top picks from 2016 and as I said awesome stuff everyone!!

Goes without saying this book is just cool...wanted one for some time and very happy a boardie put it aside for me while I paid it off :)

This book is EXTREMELY tough to find and another BIG shoutout to a boardie pal who helped me finally track this one down!!

Well, what do you know...another boardie assist on this one!! Man these boards are sweet!!

I know I am breaking the RULES but here are a few other notable pickups and I don't post often in CG so this is a good chance to see these books for those that don't make it to GOLD all that often!!

All right there are a few others but just like last year I feel like a cheated enough already. I don't truly see the next year going quite as well as this year or the last as I've already made such a HUGE dent in my want list and am pretty much into just relaxing and enjoying for now. I have my eyes open for a few books in particular but they are more bank breaker type books (for me anyways) :D so gotta keep that war chest full. Great thread and Happy Hunting to everyone!!

Sweet books, entalmighty. I love the bullet holes in the glass on that Batman!

I started the year off right, acquiring grail #1:

I really fell in love with Wrightson's work and the Swamp Thing character this year, so I picked this up from the man himself during Houston Comicpalooza (not original art, but a signed/numbered print, and the colored version only exists in print form):

Then (I feel) my love of Wrightson and Swamp Thing was rewarded when I scored the Swampy grail from Amazon.com's used books section for peanuts:
