I was watching the auction and was floored by those results. The Kaanga 8 reappeared in a 2 comic lot later, and sold for $504.00.

I thought that prices were strong in general, and I hadn't even noticed those two—because I had zero interest in those books. Those prices are just plain bizarre.

A raw FINE copy of Fight 78 sold for $252—I was watching that one because I recently purchased a slabbed copy—and I would have expected the two Kaangas to be in the same ballpark.

It is so weird that I have to wonder if somebody created a couple of fake accounts to bid those books up with no intention of paying—some kind of practical joke or something.

ETA: Or because the person has a long box full of similar copies that he wants to sell.
