What does one consider to be a reasonable amount of time to pay someone when you've agreed to buy a book?

Same day. Well, maybe 1-3 days unless other arrangements were made in advance.

Well, here on our forum, the PL rules imply that 30 days is reasonable.

Depends. Usually I mention that in the terms of the deal upfront. If I need it in a day I make that part of the deal. If I include nothing I would expect payment anywhere from 2 days to 7 days. 7 days is the longest to receive payment (if sent electronically) or for it to be sent out (if a check) within those 7 days.

 

Anything longer than week to send should probably be mentioned upfront.

 

Weekends, Holidays, etc. should be taken into account when figuring out the amount of time as well.

Much like knowing which books passed a prescreen before the grades are posted.

I take returns on anything for whatever reason. I just think it's good customer service, but that's just me. I want people to be happy if they give me their business.

Yep.I remember long time board member/friend silversurfer giving no questions asked return on a 9.4 slab that seemed to have gotten a corner unsharpened somehow and was very impressed.would deal with P. anytime.

That seems fair.

 

The sales thread said 48 hours to receive payment. However the seller pulled the accepted offer after less than 24 hours after requesting PayPal info.
