He defined a decade of Web of Spider-man, and this is probably his best cover to have from that run. I don't know, I've seen crazy prices for Black suit 80s Spidey pages, not THAT shocking to see this piece above 7k....10k I don't know but I can see 7k pretty easy I think. If you collect iconic stuff by known guys working on signature books, those items can set goofy prices when it all washes out. Off the top of my head, Saviuk's output on Spidey titles falls well short of Sal Buscema, Mark Bagley and Jim Mooney.

glendgold
The FF 77 cover is now at the top spot, 4 hours out -- 135K. Of course nothing counts until the end, but I'm going to guess I was a little conservative when I guessed 150K.

I think, with this appearance, it might set the record for the modern piece of art auctioned/sold the most times publicly in the last 10 years. I have to look but this makes either the 3rd or 4th time Rick in the hospital bed has been offered publicly. The McFarlane Wolverine back cover has been around the block a few times and it is finishing on Clink tonight. If I hadn't spent so much on art recently I would strongly consider taking a run. Then again, when this happens you wonder why it gets passed around like a hot potato. Malvin

Prime Adams-Giordano period (1971), great elements and execution. Would not have been shocked by $50k. Would have been more shocked if it finished under $40k. Big Adams fan here, and never thought of this as a very memorable cover, so I think the seller did very well. Probably a fair deal for the buyer too. Everyone wins.
