Ouch.

Had to walk away from a couple of books I really wanted because the prices went at least double what I was expecting, not even keys either.

Both had the “Original Owner” designation. Really hadn’t paid it that much mind but it seems to have had the affect of garnering pedigree prices for a non-pedigree book.

Has anyone else noticed that phenomenon on Clink?  Because if that “Original Owner” designation doesn’t account for these prices I may have to seriously re-evaluate this hobby.

I've noticed quite a few peds to stay away from, or at least analyze real closely before bidding.

Original owner has lost its meaning, especially with dealer's touting that - no, your at least the second owner.

Or maybe original owner never had any meaning, and has the same problem as some peds.

Show me it means something besides uniformly carppy preservation that you can count on. :p

Ah the post auction hangover for both the wallet and the head.  I wonder how many are experiencing that from the last Heritage ASM auction.

The drink was for celebration, not sorrow or a headache. I had been trying to find a copy with an acceptable wrap I could live with for years now. It was $1400 more than the August clink 9.8, which I didn’t bid on, but far less than the $21k May example (which I was the underbidder).                                       The May copy was superior to this one, but for $11k less :takeit:

Same here. And not even on the original owner books. I don't like to pay over fmv or even. I have some extra money I need to put somewhere so went 20 to 30 percent over. Didn't win a single one of them. Wasn't even the runner up. My bids got beat by hundreds. Even on under $500 books they got beat by at least a 100.

The original owner did great but imagine if he also had the cva sticker on his books!

This is what happens when you party a little too hard and decide to take a flyer on some cheap stuff, or as I call this “GI Joe: The Good Enough I Guess Collection”.

Happy to have the War Child in 9.8. I’ll probably hang onto my 9.6 for the time being. Got sniped at the very last second on the Grendel 3, which is maybe a mixed blessing, as I could have had it for half that price a month ago. Stupid Netflix tax!

We’ll see how the rest of the week goes. I don’t have my eye on anything big, but plenty of weird drek i apparently found appealing while flying the friendly skies.

Don’t Drink and Clink, kids. Or do. I guess it’s fine!

I would say you did well on the joes. If certain buyers didn't hate their stupid stickers they put on slabs I guarantee these would have sold for $15 or $20 more.
