He went 'forward' to view them in as much as I can fast forward a VHS, doesn't mean I lived that entire movie even though I skipped to the end of it to see what happens. Nothing in the movies, nor or associated fiction and supplementary material, ever implied he lived out each and every one of those possibilities.
