In this case, the dealer is just not interested which offends the host or whatever I'm supposed to call him- don't you think that leaving a negative review on Google towards essentially a Mom & Pop business is something to frown upon? Those reviews can be damaging to independent businesses. That was basically the element that moved me enough to share this. A YouTube video is one thing, but these bad reviews out of spite- this guy looks like he's nearing 40, it's a d*** move.

You don’t sell your stuff in someone else’s store.  He’s paying the rent.  It’s a dyk move and that YouTuber should be embarrassed to post that video

I've dealt with a couple YouTube and social media people in the past and one of the things they love to do is to try to intimidate people so that they can get what they want.  Maybe these store owners knew what was up, a guy walking in with a camera strapped onto him is pretty obvious what he's doing, and just decided to end his stupid games once he showed he wasn't going to respect their business. 

The YouTuber is looking for conflict and drama.  This is all about followers and getting attention

I feel like a dunce just for watching that video. There's a small handful of dealers I'd sell or trade comics with, and 90% of the shops I've ever been to a) don't know how to grade and b) don't know how to price, so...

Why'd I just spend almost 18 minutes watching an entitled 'influencer' trying to trade books to upgrade his 'Omnibus' collection? Ugh.

Honestly, I find the thought of someone walking into a small business with a camera strapped to their chest obnoxious. 

It's really about being respectful and courteous. Walk in and ask the owners if you can film... (Or bring a backpack inside, which a sign said not to do, but he did anyway). Explain that you have a YouTube channel and are making an episode..... Or, if you want to get real crazy, call the stores in advance and speak to the owner. 

I'm sure some owners would invite the free press. Others might not care for it and ask you not to film.  

Hopefully he reads this feedback and realizes he made some mistakes. The gut making the videos seemed pleasant enough, just entitled with a lack of self awareness.

I feel basically the same about anyone who is running a camera in public.

If you were to meet me, you would find me to be an effervescent fountain of charm. But when someone sticks a camera in my face, I instantly get really boring.

Third shop was again problem with modern type of collector like StickyGoose where the good stuff is not right in front of him...

Anyway who is StickyGoose to criticize how some stores operates? If they are still in business what they are doing works for them. Also trying to do your own deal inside the store is big NO which baffles me that someone would even try that.

So his actual YouTube name is StinkyGoose? He's better off sticking with Strap On.

Not just that, but don't you have to have some sort of consent form signed before you can film someone and upload it? Maybe things are different in the Youtube era, I dunno, but it seems like you should.

Any twerp that walks into a store with a camera strapped to them would get a similar dismissal from me. Imagine you're there in your store, trying to make your bread, and some entitled schmuck comes in to film you without consent, and posts it online, making a point to complain about how socially awkward you are, or how mean you are, etc. No one asked for that. That's my problem with the entire Youtube thing: everyone assumes that they have an interesting opinion or "hot take" that needs to be heard. It doesn't. No one cares. Shut up. You're not interesting or special.

Punk deserves a beat down. Wish the owner had physically tossed him.

The youtube guy could have played this entirely different by being polite and considerate of others. He could have phoned the store and said "Hi, I am a comic collector and I have this youtube channel and I would like to feature your store. Mind if I come by??"

Going that route you are likely to get a far better reception / reaction and are likely to get support.

Walking in filming is inconsiderate and he should expect to receive the same behavior in return.

As to doing deals in the store or near the store: equally inconsiderate.

Getting asked to leave 2 comic stores in the same day it is clearly the Youtuber that is the problem.

And all of this speaks to what I think is the biggest problem with this guy, and so many of these youtubers: The sense of entitlement. Like he should be able to film anyone he wants, he should expect people to be receptive to his insincerity, he should be able to make snide comments about their appearance, he should be able to treat people as pawns in his "content", and that should be fine. What a jerk, but unfortunately it's epidemic.

Saw this yesterday, lol.  I don't like how he goes in insulting the people and shops (in narration, not IRL), then picking on the Christian music being played at one of them, the conditions of the shops, etc.  But in the one case, the shop turned down a seller so he followed them to the parking lot and tried to make a deal...then the shop owner came out chasing him away because it takes away her business.

Business she already turned down.

I dunno...if true, the woman was out of line.  Could have been cooler about it.  But I'm wondering, since the Christian music seemed to bother him, if maybe his telling of the story reflects that.

I just don't tend to trust people who slant their view and start picking on the condition of a store, or that an employee was hard to see behind her desk and all this unrelated stuff...after having a falling out.

Reminds me of when an actor gets political and suddenly a bunch of people are all "his movies suck! He can't act" instead of just addressing the person's views.
